Hello GuitarPhill, When I take long drives I like to listen to bands like Supertramp, Steppinwolf, Matt Minglewood,Any thing by Stevie Ray Vaughn. Some tunes are suited well for long drives in the car. There is an old blues song by Willie Love about a V-8 Ford that is really good, he was a paino player from the 40,s that I like a lot.Hey this is an interesting thread and would be cool to know what others listen to in their cars.

Have a great day....Badeye.

Hello Musicman I read somewhere that Roberta Flack wrote that song about Don MacLean. Google search her name and you'll find it.  Hope this helps you.

Agreed The Doors had some real trippy music altered or not.
I'm a junkie without an addiction. JUST MUSIC.Seems I'm addicted to my guitar and it's all good. I smoked ciggeretts
{tobbaco] for 25 years when i guit cold turkey my guitar was my saviour. Its been 8 months since my last ciggerett and I feel great with lots of energy. Hey tobbaco kills slowly.I wrote the pros and cons of smoking and found the con list full. the pro side empty. Probably started in high school because it was cool and all the other kids were doing it. Its very addictive.Anyway enough rambling.

Have a great day Chordies....Badeye.

Old Doll Have you heard of "The Men Of The Deeps" a choir of ex miners from Cape Breton who preformed all over the world? They are fantastic.

Hows your garden after all the rain?

Yes Old Doll "Working Man" is a beautiful song by a Cape Breton lady Rita MacNeil. It always remindes me of my dad who is off to that coal mine in heaven. I bet he is loading coal right know. Raised nine kids on a coal miners pay and not one day went hungry.Another song that reminds me of dad is "The Springhill Disaster" for he was a dreagerman and dug for days to find 11 traped miners. Prince Philip of England presented him and six others with a ring of bravery that he passed to me that I will treasure for ever. I sure do miss him.

Hey James maybe any young folks reading this thread will heed the message that hard drugs are bad. Excess alcohol leeds to a life of misery. Remember SPEED KILLS.

I love to play the blues and older country tunes like Merle Haggert, George Jones, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, and the like. But mainly the blues.

I think MHeberts post is ok too. There has been more damage from legal alcohol than "Devils Weed" or 'Gods Herb'
as I like to call it.Hard drugs are a bad scene.Lots of lives wasted and fallen through the cracks from hard drug use and is a drain on the system. I found out at an early age what hard drugs can do. A friend of mine overdosed and didn't make it.It was a sad day and I chose then my path not to do hard drugs. I always tell my friends that SPEED KILLS.

Morning Old Doll, Mhebert is just fooling with you, but I did find a recipe for smoothies.

                           Lobster Smoothie

               1 Lobster Tail
               2 Scoops Ice-Cream
               12 oz glass milk
               Chocklat syrup

Mix in blender and enjoy, Warning may not taste that great.
