If you read the lyrics, the first thing you notice is that the man she loves is "killing her softly, with a song, read in public some letters she wrote, and some more events". She is/was in love with a young guy, who sings beautiful songs.
This is my answer on the question.
Good Luck
In fact, I think the song is originally
A poem about McLean, Killing Me Softly With His Blues by Lori Lieberman, was reworked into a song called "killing me softly with this song" by Charles Fox and Norman Gimbel.
Lieberman was the first to record it (in 1972), but the song has two more well-known covers.
The first major hit version was by Roberta Flack in 1973;
The Fugees's version was a major hit in 1996.
Do I win a price now?

In a song, they write a lot about cars. Yes, the car is probably one of the best inventions starting at the end of the 19th century, and Ford perfected or better is the father of the mass production. I like cars, and for me it was important that I had a solid car and also solid and nice at the inside because I spent a lot of time driving. More short distances, and thanks to a very solid car, I am still alive.
What I love about cars is the fact that a lot of cars have a CD player.
I think that there are even CD compilations, called car music. When I was on holiday in the US (at least 5 times), it was like a dream, renting a mustang convertible, it was like walking driving a car, not fast, car open, and you can enjoy so many things, see so many things, smell the forests.....
The cars I have rented there, they all had a CD player and real car music was for me Creedence Clearwater Revival, Steppenwolf, some compilation CD's with ballads, rock, blues.
I am very curious to know what music you like to hear, driving longer distances. Dire Straits is also fabulous when you drive.
But here is a list: songs with car in the title.
- Mercedes Benz                       JANIS JOPLIN
- Car Song                               ELASTICA
- Cars                                      GARY NUMAN
- Drive                                     THE CARS
- Driving in my car                    MADNESS
- Baby you can Drive my Car     THE BEATLES
- Killer Cars                              RADIOHEAD
- Fast Car                                 TRACY CHAPMAN
- Little Deuce Coupé                  THE BEACH BOYS
- Little Red Corvette                   PRINCE (is his name still Prince???)
- Pink Cadillac                           BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN
- Autobahn                                KRAFTWERK
- Route 66                                 A LOT OF MUSICIANS, like THE ROLLING STONES
- Red Barchetta                         RUSH
- Ventura Highway                     AMERICA
- Fire                                        SPRINGSTEEN/ THE POINTERSISTERS
- You Remind me of my Jeep      R. KELLY
- Highway to Hell                       AC/DC
And if you want, you can still add at least 20 other songs
Hear you later "chordians" and have a nice weekend: WITHOUT ACCIDENTS

I agree they are all important, manager included. I also noticed that big groups start to use "music lawyers" to defend them.
But I stick to the rythmsection, it is not always easy to follow that section. Don't relie on the guitar player(s), because one of them can start playing a solo, and his rythm is changing, I mean that at that moment it is the job, mostly the drummer, to follow and to lead it in good directions.

I love the fact that "chordians" and "non- chordians" love the site. At this moment, I make different topics like facts 2     facts3
Maybe we (you) can leave it maybe a short while, and after a few days we put them all together in 1 big topic.
I want you still to know that all the stuff I write IS TRUE and can be checked, on wikipedia or other sites. I am just continuing

Strange we have already reached episode 5 in season 1. I repeat that I love to hear something strange from other people. I know, you can loose a lot of time, and I know it takes a lot of time, but I am not longer working, so I do have time. I don't want for you "dear chordians" that you spend an hour sitting in front of your PC, to answer or to post a list. But I should be glad if you mention even 1 fact, or if you agree or disagree with the facts. I am just like you, maybe a little bit crazier, but I should love questions, and almost everything I post, can be checked on your internet, just put the name in a search engine. The only unpleasant thing of those searches are the way you put your words, I've seen it already a lot of times, you search for something, let's say concerning voting, you don't find results, but if you change your phrase, you will get a lot of sites. So here's today's list.
ONE HIT WONDERS:
BANDS WHO HAD 1 BIG HIT and maybe a few non-hits.
- Groove Is In The Heart      Dee Lite (1990)
- 96 years            "?" and the mysterians.  "?" seems to use this symbol in stead of his own name, which was MARK, I think.
- Black Betty          Ram Jam. It is a copy of an old afro-american work song. LEADBELLY used this song, I have it in a big box: 100 years music from sony, and he is just singing and tapping with his feet to accompany him. More, it is possible that the song was already song on the fields in the 18th century. ( for that I have to dig deeper in history).
- Don't Fear The reaper     Blue Oyster Cult
- Spirit in the Sky  (1969)        Norman Greenbaum. I loved that song a lot, and I couldn't find other songs of Norman Greenbaum ( don't confuse the man with Peter Greenbaum, better known as Peter GREEN, the man who wrote black magic women, albatross, man of the world, yes the most important musician in the band he started with Mick Fleetwood= FLEETWOOD MAC, in the sixties. He left Fleetwood, had psychiatric problems, and started to give almost all his money to others) so I looked at Amazon.com and yes, a CD from that man. I was really surprised to hear that spirit in the sky was almost the only "electric" song on that album, it was more "folk"
- In the year 2525    Zager and Evans.
I have a few other names, I never heard about them, so I just give an example like the song Turning Japanese  The Vapors are a British New Wave Band active from 1979-1981 ( Are there fellow members who know this group, and song(s).
Also a song called Mickey by a certain Toni Basil in 1982
In the same category we can put maybe THE ZOMBIES, who splitted before their first album was on the market, containing a lot of great songs, like "she's not there"
Please I appreciate every kind of help, as long as you don't loose time on the subjects. I have plenty of time, but I am convinced that there are a lot more facts than I think, or post.

I told you that this item is SUPER to use in a Quiz.
WILD THING is best know in the performance of the TROGGS
BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT the composer of this song is CHIP TAYLOR, (real name: James Wesley Voight)  more that man is the brother of the actor JON VOIGHT and is a full uncle of Angelina Jolie. I discovered this more by coincidence, searching on IMDb to find a recent movie with Angelina Jolie. I clicked on her fathers name and it seemed he has also a very artistic brother: CHIP TAYLOR. I didn't believe either that he wrote that song, after checking and checking, it is that man. I found the song on limewire and I have it on PC. As far as I could follow it was a kind of protest song about a president.
If you don't believe me, you can find the true story on Wikipedia, google ---> Chip Taylor ---> look on the wikipedia site. But, I don't exclude that there could be an old song, or traditional, rearranged by him.
The other song "without you" is indeed best know in the version of HARRY NILSSON, 1 YEAR LATER than the original song, he discovered it (maybe with help from his drinking brother John Lennon at that time, and the fact that BADFINGER was signed on their label. It is so strange that he discovered that song and for me it is one of the songs performed in a PHENOMENAL way, straight from the heart. How many couples have met each other on this song, or used it to be the first song on their wedding? Other performers are, the "hardrock (ladies) band HEART, and the well known version by MARIAH CAREY, a version I don't like a lot, because for me, this version is so STERILE & NOT STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART.
Without You" is a song originally recorded by Badfinger for their album No Dice (1970), and written by Pete Ham and Tom Evans and produced by Geoff Emerick . The song came on that album, I have the song, but it is more a "poppy tune" and to be honest, you recognise the song, but it is nothing special. Some of the lyrics are a little bit harder (though almost the same). The weird thing is that and HAM and EVANS committed both suicide. Pete HAM in 1975 and after a big dispute concerning the royalties from "without you" EVANS committed suicide as well in 1983.
I think the composers could live for the rest of their life doing nothing, just using their money from royalties from "without you". Nilsson topped the US charts 4 weeks number one) and I even don't mention Mariah Carey, who was even longer in the charts.
All this can be found on sites like Wikipedia.

As far as I know, it is indeed kind of ridiculous. I don't know how long this action took place. But it was 1 big "NEW YORK" radiostation, banning for a while, thinking about the victims. Some, and I believe more than we think, family of victims, I can understand that some songs, like the only living boy in New York, can be painful for those who lost a beloved one. Sometimes, and this is far more radical start to burn records, because of the fact that some artists wrote a CD, with lyrics that are not liked by, and I am sure not tasted by a minority. Just look back to the fifties and sixties, where a lot of songs by afro-americans, had no airplay. There is definitely a huge difference between the American and European mentality. In the USA how many different forms of religion are there, compared, more specific the main land in Europe?

I looked on his website many, many times, and I do agree, it are really beautiful guitars he makes, or give a fender stratocaster a complete different look. I just don't understand why he is always "against" other guitars, who did not go through his store.
I know that here in Europe there are regulations concerning publicity, like you are not allowed to make negative publicity concerning, or comparing to similar products. Also, knowing my profession, I am NOT ALLOWED TO WRITE CARDS AND DISTRIBUTE THEM. WE, ALSO LAWYERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO MAKE PUBLICITY. So you can start working somewhere, and the people have to figure it out: what, where, and how. In my eyes this is still retarded comparing to the USA

I have a question, probably concerning a lot of people.
In my case the fact is, I never followed lessons to play guitar, and due to mainly personal reasons (health problems) I almost never played in a music group, the last time is about 10 years ago, and I was amazed how playing in a group changes your "feeling" concerning your interaction with your guitar.
MOST IMPORTANT IS: YOU PLAY FOR 30 YEARS ON YOUR OWN, YOU HAVE DEVELOPED A TECHNIQUE, YOUR OWN PERSONAL TECHNIQUE, and I like to know if, playing on your own for a long time, if it is still useful to follow guitar lessons. I am afraid that following lessons, like to be a good finger picker, are a waste of money, just because I think it must be very hard to leave your own technique to play guitar.
Because I don't play guitar in a band, I have a lot of joy using my little device with bass loops and drum patterns, you can see that your timing is not always good, and many more. I like it when I go electric, following the rhythm section of my little Korg Pandora.
I think this should be interesting for other guitar players too.
WILL YOUR WAY TO PLAY, OR TO HANDLE A GUITAR AFTER ALL THOSE YEARS, WIN FROM A COURSE TO PLAY GUITAR, EVEN A STYLE YOU DON'T PLAY, LIKE FINGERPICKING, OR WILL THE COURSE WIN????

yes it is strange. The more they ban songs from airplay, the better they will sell, just look what happened with the SEX PISTOLS. The list is funny indeed, 9/11 is NOT FUNNY, but this are FACTS, there were about 150 songs banned. If you find songs, let me know.
I have put the songs I have found. Only one problem; it takes a lot of time.

I DON'T MEAN TO OFFEND SOME ONE, BUT THIS IS A LIST OF SONGS BANNED FROM THAT BIG (NEW YORK) RADIOSATIONS.
I am living in Europe, I watched the whole day Television, and this is really shocking what happened. I still don't understand how a big plane with a high speed can fly straight into those buildings. I think they were trained to aim for the WTC, because if you see the images, this must
be very difficult, you'd rather expect that at least 1 plane should miss and crash in Manhattan.
I follow politics, and something strange is going on.
If some chordians know other banned songs, please add them.
I try to put in music stories and spinal tap, & other things to know, every day a REAL story. Nothing I write down is exaggerated.

Do you know that GIBSON, the Memphis plant, destroy 30% of what they made, because of a sometimes almost invisible scratches, or the paint, or the sound. Some workers, they play the whole day on guitars, straight from the production line. They will not sell it, even under an other name. I don't know if they destroy the electronics.
I should like to have an epiphone (have a Sheraton) solid body, standard or custom. I think they are good, and I have heard other electric guitars: THE LOUDER the AMP, THE MORE SIMILAR SOUND of DIFFERENT guitars.

As everyone knows, guitar prices are very high. Concerning new guitars, George Gruhn is an "authority" he writes interesting things. But there is another guy in Las Vegas: ED ROMAN, who seems in my eyes "very strange". He will make you a diamond fender if you ask it, because he claims really to be a kind of superman for guitars. He compares PRS with JET, and all his guitars are superior to others. WHAT CAN WE BELIEVE HERE?????? Are there chordians (I see they start to use this nice word) who have the Las Vegas experience, or "Roman guitars found in Vegas" no ancient Greek guitars but ROMAN

I don't know the song, I do know the chords.
Probably you have written this "little pearl", but if I don't know the melody, or 100 people don't know the melody, we will probably have 100 different melodies, using the chords written on top.
That is so.. difficult to explain, even with this song in music notes, everyone shall maybe play the correct melody, some "bluesy" some in "ballad" and others in "heavy metal style". I love this different person, different interpretation.
NICE LYRICS

I get more and more the impression that every decade has produced their own "heavy metal/hardrock" bands. WILD THING (Troggs) is a quit heavy song, but NOT WRITTEN by the troggs. It is written by a certain CHIP TAYLOR, brother of JOHN VOIGHT and Angelina Jolie's uncle There are not many people who know this, at least in Europe.
I compare the heavy metal music with the beginning of the rock and roll, coming from the blues
Sixties: some groups: kinks, the who, and others. Take "you really got me", start playing it faster and with some distortion, and you will have a different song. I think it is just an evolution by playing faster, heavier, continued in early seventies by groups like Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin.. and later motorhead, aerosmith. So there is always an evolution, even during disco time, and early eighties, the New Wave. I have a problem with all the sub categories: trash, death, nu metal. Punk is in my eyes also a heavy metal style.

I ordered months ago a Norman Greenbaum CD, and I was surprised that the song SPIRITS IN THE SKY is one electric guitar played song. The other songs are more "folk music".
Can we consider the "GOD ONLY KNOWS" (Brian Wilson) as a Christian pop song????
Same thing : "MY SWEET LORD" by George Harisson ( I still don't find why they say that this song is plagiarism of SHE's SO FINE by the chiffons.
(I have a Fleetwood Mac CD, and after hearing a song, I was convinced that the next song was the same. For 30" the intro is identical.)
So the 2 songs I mentioned should be Christian Rock? I am also intrigued by the fact if those artists are "Christian" or let's say we write together a song about Jesus, we make a Christian Music record?

Hey bootleger and badeye. I only TOLD that I have a list about 100 greatest guitarsolos. An existing list. It can be found on the web. I do NOT agree with a lot of songs on that list. I have listed here to ask if people do agree with the list. I do agree for about 50%. Of course it is very interesting to see so many, even unknown names and the list, or the CD's are a pleasure to listen.
But like you told Jeff Healy is SUPER. I saw a concert of this blind guitarist who proves again that somebody with a "handicap" can do almost everything other people do. The intention of my question was, if you find the list (take google and search 100 greatest guitar solos) you will also see other lists, even up to 250 I think, but I don't know if you find these songs on CD. Of course with that list you can try to download a lot of them. I did it once, in the napster period, trying to find 2000 songs. I reached 1435, but I gave it up. But those where the days, complete Paul Mccartney, Deep Purple, Fleetwood Mac, Bee Gees (22 CD's!!!, I didn't know they had so much songs). But 100 greatest solos gives a good "image" with and that's a pity a very predictable top 10. So If you see the list, I wanted opinions, because there are so many great guitarists
