Hi ssttsstt - I just surfed around a bit and didn't have any of the problems you have described. Have you tried closing your browser (IE or firefox) completely and the reopening? I know that often works for me when I experience web site issues.

Re: iPod Touch (5 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Hi waynedd and welcome to Chordie! I don't have an iPod Touch (though it is on my "wish list"), but there is some info here that may be helpful.
From the front page:
Save your songbook as an iPod Notes files. These can easily be tranferred to your iPod. Works on most versions of the iPod. The newest generation can even show the chord grids. The songs are stored as text only with chords in brackets. A very compact format for such small screens. This feature is only available after you log in.
A thread that discusses it:

Hope that helps!

For many years, a young musician would plan a yearly weekend getaway at a mountain Inn. He would rendezvous with the innkeeper's daughter while he was there.
Looking forward to this year’s trip he departed with his suitcases in hand. When he arrived at the Inn he made his way up the stairs to his usual meeting room. The door was open and he walked in glancing at the Innkeeper daughter sitting on the bed.
There she sat with an infant on her lap!
"Who is that he asked."
"It's your son" she answered.
"Why didn't you write when you learned you were pregnant?" he cried. "I would have rushed up here, we could have gotten married, and the child would have my name!"
"Well," she said, "when my folks found out about my condition, we sat up all night talkin' and talkin' and we finally decided it would be better to have a bastard in the family than a musician.

Actually, I though the performance was real good before - never had any problems with slow loading pages or anything. Now that I surfed around a bit, things do seem to load a bit faster, but like I said, it was always pretty good for me anyway. I have a cable broadband connection.

Re: little jokes (54 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Arthur is 90 years old. He's played golf every day since his retirement 25 years ago. One day he arrives home looking downcast.
"That's it," he tells his wife. "I'm giving up golf. My eyesight has gotten so bad that once I've hit the ball I couldn't see where it went."
His wife sympathizes and makes him a cup of tea. As they sit down she says, "Why don't you take my brother with you and give it one more try."
"That's no good" sighs Arthur, "your brother's a hundred and three. He can't help."
"He may be a hundred and three", says the wife, "but his eyesight is perfect."
So the next day Arthur heads off to the golf course with his brother-in-law. He tees up, takes an almighty swing and squints down the fairway. He turns to the brother-in-law. "Did you see the ball?"
"Of course I did!" replied the brother-in-law. "I have perfect eyesight".
"Where did it go?" says Arthur.
"I don't remember!"

Re: little jokes (54 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
A husband walks into Victoria's Secret to purchase a sheer negligee for his wife.
He is shown several possibilities that range from $250 to $500 in price, the more sheer, the higher the price.
Naturally, he opts for the most sheer item, pays the $500, and takes it home.
He presents it to his wife and asks her to go upstairs, put it on, and model it for him.
Upstairs, the wife thinks, 'I have an idea. It's so sheer that it might as well be nothing.
I won't put it on, but I'll do the modeling naked, return it tomorrow, and keep the $500 refund for myself.'
So she appears naked on the balcony and strikes a pose.
The husband says, 'Good Grief! You'd think for $500, they'd at least iron it!'

Re: newbie (7 replies, posted in About Chordie)
Hi bydna and welcome to Chordie.
Chordie is a search engine and does not actually host any of the songs you see here. This is from the FAQ and info links that can be found under the Resources tab:
This service is a search engine specialising on chopro-files. As most other search engines, it does not host any of the indexed files.
You can not transpose songs that are presented in plain text format. Like this one. Transposing only works when the Chordie engine recognizes a song. Here is an example of a working song. Use the dropdown menu on the right to transpose it. Generally songs with tablatures can't be transposed.
http://www.chordie.com/faq.php
On songs that are in the proper format (chopro), you can change the key by clicking on the dropdown menu under Transpose Chords.
Hope this helped.

Re: PROFANITY: DIFFERENCE USA versus EUROPE? (42 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
I'm in the same school with George Carlin on this one. Why is "s***" a bad word and "poop" considered acceptable, or cute even? - they both mean the exact same thing. They are both just words. Letters formed in a particular sequence . It is only society's perception that defines one as bad and one as acceptable. There is no logic behind it. The only thing that makes them bad is that we were taught that they were bad as children and that they are not allowed on TV. I wonder if all these words were all of a sudden allowed in the media, how long it would take for them not to be considered "bad". Would society then form new words that were "bad"? Probably.
