Hi meleene
Welcome to Chordie.
As Chordie is only a search engine and displays songs from other sites the mistake is with the original and therefore can not be reviewed by Chordie.

When I was young my musical influences were quite narrow being mainly centred on rock and progressive rock your Led Zep, Yes, ELP and Cream etc all with amazing lead guitarist. As I've got older my musical influences have just exploded from classical to what I even hear on the Eurovision song contest I've now come to the conclusion there is no bad musical influences just some that I prefer more than others.

How can I delete old songbooks?
I just want to clean up my "songbook" area. The songbooks in question are empty, and no longer required.

If you open your empty songbook you should see at the top on the right a "delete Songbook" tab. If this is missing then contact admin by email as it should be there.

Hi Russ I really enjoyed that it had a sort of epic love song sound that makes me think of a film score.
Loved the melody and the arrangement. The time spent was worth it.
Well done to the both of you.

I've always liked Phill's song "The broken doll" too.
You've done a great cover there Roger with just a electro piano as accompaniment.
Well done.
Tony

Some of my better chord progressions for my songs I have discovered though substituting an odd chord from an existing progression in a song then nicking it.
No hard and fast rules where making music is concerned if you like the sound then play it.  smile

Really sorry to here this news about Alvin Lee he was one of my all time favourite rock guitarists.
"SSSH" by Ten years after was one of the first albums I ever bought. The speed and energy he bought to lead guitar playing was outstanding watching him perform was electrifying.
RIP Alvin Lee

Hi guitarherorockstar98
Well ambition is a fine thing but like all things it's best too start out small with perhaps just the one song.
Here's a couple links on Chordie about songwriting they may help or search the web there's help out there for budding song writers.
Good luck

Hi Phill
Just had a listen to your instrumental. You got a nice laid back sound there. Neat idea to change guitar and add some fx to the mix plain and simple with a catchy melody line nice job very listeningable if that's a word.

Hi Skodat1agg
As Chordie is a search engine only and pulls songs hosted on other websites and displays them in the index Chordie didn't get it wrong. If there's a mistake with the song then it lies with the original website that hosts the song.

Hi Russ Phill
Nicely done gents. I liked the the melody running through the song almost a background pad to the whole song gave a sort of melancholic ambient feel.

Hi Phill
Got to be acoustic for me now. Sold my Strat a few years back because I didn't use it much. My electro acoustic suits my recording needs and playing with FX can make it sound much like a solid body in a recording (well to me).
My acoustic sits in it's stand within easy reach and gets played most days without any hassel of an amp etc. Horses for courses I guess.

Hi El Modarino  big_smile
Though I've written songs with lyrics over the years I've been increasingly drawn to the music side of a song.
I guess the melody of a song has always drawn me to like or love a song. Words are good and funnily enough most of the best loved songs have decent lyrics but all have great melodies, riffs and musical hooks.
I know many artist combine the two wonderfully well Dylan etc but I wonder where his work would been without his great melodies.
So I've ended up with lots of chord progressions melodies and riffs and no lyrics... Ah Well.
Good luck with your songwriting.

I agree Phill..
Well all I know is as a Uk resident myself and my family are less lightly to be shot than a family living in a society where guns are freely available.
Less guns less shot people simple really.
Why is there even a debate on the subject it strikes me as pointless the facts are a no brainer. More guns equal more shot and dead people per population.
If that's what the people really want then they have to live with the consequences.

Hi Fire art
The full F barre chord is usually the first one to crack so it's going to that time to nail down and practice is the only way to do it.
You could try the shorten version of the chord if you want but depends on the song.
anyway good luck.

Hi bushy243
Sorry you were struck down so near Christmas. I can empathise with you as I had a heart attack in August and to cut a long story short have now 7 stents in my heart and taking a bucketful of meds.
The good thing is I'm fully recovered now and feel fine. Hope your recovery is as good as mine.
Good luck mate.

I respected Ravi Shankar as a great musician but i could only enjoy the sound of the sitar when the melodies it produced had been some what westernised as per George Harrison in some of the later Beatle music.
RIP Ravi..
