That's true Russ, it does sound very sci-fi when you think about how this stuff is done! Things are moving along slowly with my project... limited internet access from one project member But no rush... just the idea of it is amazing, and here you and Phill are pulling these new collab's off right and left!

wow... I like them! I knew that you could do things like that within audacity, although I haven't quite figured out how to do anything more than an echo effect yet (yup, need to read more I think)... I like these tho for something live. VERY COOL!
ugh... my son forgot to log out of chordie again, that was me posting that... SORRY guys! Anywho... very neat, and simple yet complex. THAT is the kind of thing I need... someday... I suppose after I get a pickup and an amp!

Re: Nut adjustment (pardon the pun) (7 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
I'm curious to know the answers you get here on this one Crevs. I really haven't been able yet to do any barre chords, but I do find that putting a capo on and playing up a few frets higher is much easier on my wee girlie fingers. I have been wondering if nut adjustment would make playing my open chords without a capo easier. I wouldn't be doing any nut adjustments any time soon, but it'll be interesting to hear the responses you get here. I'm open to learning for the time when I'm ready!

Very nice Ken! Hey... I couldn't help but notice where this was recorded. We have another Chordian that has played at the same place doing open mic! We call him Big Jim, aka Bass Viking. Makes me wish I was in Ohio so I could come join you all. That open mic looks like a blast!! Anyway, very fun song you've got there that just jumps and hops!

Wow, happy NGD Wayne! Looks beautiful for sure! My epi with the laminate top mimics that look, I love the color ... but just look at the grain in the wood there. I'll bet those bass notes just boom right out wonderfully! CONGRATS! The more I hear about Lizzy, the more I like her and can see what a great lady she is to you! BTW... did she get anything good at the quilt show?

Very Cute Lena! A nice little comic relief to my morning
I had the opportunity to visit for a short bit on Saturday with an old family friend from Ireland. Her husband used to work on the Railroad with my father, both now are retired. She said that her family was from Southern Ireland. She is such a trip! Josephine has always cracked me up with her accent, especially when she says to me, "Oh darling, you've always been me favorite you know. All the bloody rest o' them are..." and then as she goes off about the rest of them, while making a Manhattan from her cooler in the back yard. But then my husband or brother walks by and she stops to tell me how "beautiful" and handsome he is. And then she's off on a jaunt about the muscles and this that and the other thing, drooling over the men! LOL! It doesn't take her long to go back to what a "darling" I am! I would have liked to ask her some questions about home, but she was far too interested in staring at the men

Re: Day At Tha Beach (2 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Badeye, there's a small resort town just a stone's throw from my house. Oneida Lake is right here, so I take the kids down to the beach quite often. It's not the same as the Ocean as it's fresh water, but it is a beach all the same Sometimes we go and the kids play, sometimes I bring my guitar. Usually we only go for a couple hours though, not all day.
I miss the days of going out on the boat and jumping off the back and just swimming in that cool deep water. I wouldn't mind an Ocean front beach to find pretty shells and random hermit crabs and such either. Our beach just has random bits of broken glass and sea gulls that will steal your belongings if you leave them on the blanket while you take a quick dip in the water

Re: Strings - Anyone tried the new Martin "Lifespans"? (21 replies, posted in Acoustic)
bolleauxp - Butch said he paid $16 for his Elixir Nanowebs ... mine were $15 something... so about the same. I've heard if you buy them online, a few packages at a time, you can get them for much cheaper (in the US at least). I am really surprised at the cost there for you. I was looking around online one day and saw that one could get a room at a bed and breakfast somewhere near where the Phil harmonic was playing in the UK for around $40 US - I was BLOWN away by that as B&B's here are generally way more expensive than a hotel room. Hotel rooms run between $60-$140 depending on where you're staying. I'd expect if I was near somewhere that the Phil Harmonic was playing, I'd be paying closer to $140. Very interesting stuff.

Ha ha... how many times have you come to Chordie and looked to see if I was logged in? I think I am here checking on things 10 times a day or more! LOL! Chordie Junkie for sure! Maybe we need to talk to Per about selling "Chordie Junkie" bumper stickers!
You are welcome Roger I hope your repair proves to be a fantastic success! Enjoy your time with her tonight.
Badeye, I will be at a little party tonight at my Dad's after a quick stop at the cemetery. My guitar is coming along, and here's hopes that my Dad's guitar comes out of hiding too!
Pete, I don't mind a little turmoil or drama myself as long as I'm not a big part of it. I've personally had enough this week though. A friend of the family passed away and I went to his calling hours last night, I coached and watched my dear friend give birth to a healthy baby boy on Tuesday, and today I morn 7 years since my own daughter was born still (fetal demise as the docs prefer to say). I'm ready for a quiet party with some Woodchuck Ale (or perhaps some Jack and Coke) and my guitar.

Nope, I'm with Butch... Just put some nano webs on last night in fact. Marked improvement from the cheap Ernie Balls that were on there. I do hope they last longer too!

Re: bass tab 4 gimme 3 steps (3 replies, posted in Song requests)
Hey Jeff, welcome to the forums! For future reference, there is a "song requests" section for putting in tab/chord requests in the forum. It's under "Guitar Playing" - and your bass tab requests are absolutely welcome there. It looks like you've been a member for a while. Take a look around the forums, read the stickies at the top of each section, and jump right into some conversations if you feel like contributing or asking a question! Everyone's fairly nice around here

Re: new acoustic guitar (21 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
I'll third that. You have to try diff ones to see what fits you and what you like. Try the ones at the top end of your price range as well as ones lower than what you are thinking of spending. Hands on is for sure a good way to get one that fits.
Absolutely! Everyone said it, and I'll say it again, try them out. DO try some out that are lower than what you are thinking of spending. Last time I went shopping, with about $300 price range, I tried guitars up to $400 and down to $100. I ended up choosing a guitar that cost under $200 because I liked the tone best. I passed over some guitars that are highly recommended by others here on Chordie. You never know what gem you will find that speaks to you!

Big Jim, you are sweet!
Ian - it all comes and goes in waves it seems. There is a bit that we do which a lot of members don't see though. Sometimes I feel like a spy, sneaking in and taking down a spammer quietly after a first naughty post and banning them then deleting their message as though they were never here.
RhythmNpik - Zurf's right, doesn't bother us if you never log out! It's good for you, cuz you never have to remember a password to log in!

I’m sure not everyone on here are beer swigging, pot smoking, burger eating, loud mouthed, head banging, guitar players, I’m hoping there are a few runners amongst us?
I guess I have to be lumped in with the "rest of em" because I think I could only walk/jog a few miles, there'd be no running for me. Looks like you've got some work outs to get in there. Perhaps I'll have a drink in your name on Saturday and play a little guitar while having a smoke (although I plan on having bbq chicken not a burger). No doubt there's got to be a few healthy Chordians around other than yourself. Good luck my friend!

Thank you soooo much guys! I am really happy that you've enjoyed the music! I will continue singing and playing for as long as I am able. I think I'm a little too modest to believe I'm capable of singing in Night Clubs, but I'd love to do something like that all the same! I am honored by your appreciation!

Thank you! Yes, it was time to do something more fun and upbeat. Considering our relationship started with nothing more than "drinks and good times"... I was hoping to portray that feeling with the song. I'm glad it worked!
