Eagleeye5851,

This post is full of compassion! for loss and found! As you are on the Cusp birthday wise. As a Leo your a fire sign,  Fire signs are very sensitive People but very loving when they meet someone they connect with! On the Cusp you would also have Earth qualities, deep down  wanting  security!
My Son is also the 22nd August. AS his Mother i can read him like a book! Thats all it takes, someone to understand you and love you for what you are!
So Good luck to you and your Gem! Let the past go it cannot be undone!

Hi last Rebel,
What are our muscadines? never heard of them. Berry cobbler love it!

I was born in the wrong place as i love Nature and every thing  to do with the Country.  I love accents, its part of what make people endear them selves to us! The stronger the better!

As i also love beaches and the sea, i now will have to look for a country Dwelling near the Coast line... Where i live we i can be at the Sea, in 20 minutes to walk the marina or sea wall.
No money needed for the best things in life. Its the greed for material possessions, in this throw away society thats the problem.

Loved your post written straight from the heart!

Hi Don Corleone,

I switched on my PC at 7 this morning to check my work for today! 2 hours and some later, i was still in my Jammies with nothing done. That link  by Jane Resture is beautiful and informative. I can see how your called the Irish of the Pacifics!....Your early legends and Mythology is so very like our own in some ways.  Story telling to keep every one reminded of history is fantastic!  We also have them still here, known as " Seánchái Sceála" Story Teller.. My Favourite of ours has always been The Children of Lir " When you read this, you will see the connection.
Your People are beautiful to the eye! I would have known the Dancing, so elegant and Sensual.  ButI could not get my european tongue around the names, but still enjoyed it any way

http://www.ireland-information.com/arti … noflir.htm

You have fantastic radio stations! Listening to" Let your Love Flow" by The Bellamy Brothers in your native tongue, and The Beatles Song, "I Saw her Standing There" So many to numerous to mention! I was seat dancing at that hour of the Morning! My Son popped his head around my door and wanted to know "was there a Party going on?" lol.
The radio links led me to "MR Poboy" and " Big Ol Woman" Cajun/Zydeco from Radio  NewOrleans. Fantastic. Best early morning by far.I was wishing it was night time so i could party!!.

The first musical instruments your people used sound like the Pan Pipes to me? I was in "Mijas" Spain last year, way up in the mountains" I came across people who looked like American Indians, But were Argentine! They were playing these pipes, Like hollowed bamboo. The sound was intoxicating! I do have Cds of this music, but to see them being played was great!
We would also use Coconut oil here in our hair, But im afraid we will never have the beautiful hair your woman have!

So Don Corleone Sorry to go on, But you can tell i didnt enjoy that link at all!!! As good as a holiday that was!
One question Why the name Don Corleone? When you could have used a beautiful old Samoan Name?

Sláinte agus Go Maire Tu! { Good Health and May you live long }

A big Beautiful Butterfly { Red Admiral} has just come through the window and landed on my PC. Ah yes! life is good Don Corleone..

Hi Badeye,
Yes after all the rain we had, Nature has been kind to me as always. We have had a great burst of heat so the garden is like "The Coat of Many Colours" Beautiful to the eye!!
Thank you for the list Badeye.   Iris Dement is another great Artist. very seldom played here {Except in my house } Love the tone of her voice.

She sings a great song with John Prine "Inspite of ourselves" Always reminds me of my {Husband.}    Love the Lyrics..

He is  a great help to me as a novice! and all concerned. He has a vast amount of knowledge and no problem imparting same!

I actually wrote a song myself sometime ago about James! I sent it to Roger Guppy another admin here on Chordie.. There was a big misunderstanding about same. So i put it back on file and never submitted it!

Well done

Hi James,
I watch The Country Music awards on tv each year and they are very glamourous affairs. I cannot relate to how it has changed as you Americans would! But played your song and wanted to add a " Yee Haw" but the men working on  my house at the moment  would think i am totally nuts! "good song though"   Stick to Statts and writing as i tried Rolling " JamesWood" around my tongue!  Nah!somehow didnt sound right!   McCormick wood! Nah!

Here in this Isle,
There is a huge point made by some " That There Townies" Even in the smallest Town they will make this point!  Five minutes outside the town they are considered to be Hicks? Or real Country Boys or Girls!. Personally i dont fully understand this? Some choose to work the land. Some choose to live in the cities or towns! Some have no choice at all. A lot of my own family members { Born and Bred 10 miles from the Capital} Have  bought or built houses in the country! 30 years later they would still be called " Blow Ins" But are as happy as Pigs in the preverbiales! They would not live in the city if they were given a home for nothing! Best of both worlds i guess...

But as America is so vast does the same apply? Maybe thats why some of the C/W can sound so different! in the different areas... Also surely the instruments they use will give a different sound to there music!
Just a thought..
I can distinguish Cajun music, and love Cajun food! Why i dont know?

David Grant,
Barbara Mandrell ! I dont really do TV at all. But i remember Her show as it was one of the very few music shows we would have had on our local channels at that time..
I have watched the Country/Music awards. and when in the States i love there C/W music Radio and tv stations.   Any Documentary about Country Singers i would watch. Always fascinating i feel.
Thanks for the reminder David   Of "Barbara Mandrell".

Thank You All,
I love all kinds of music. I do love C/W, But i dislike the way that some of it is portrayed here!
Badeyes list! I would know so many of them. some i didnt know by name, but knew all there songs! They were covered at some stage by Artist on this side of the Pond.
No it definitely does not sound all the same to me, I would feel some are Folk/Country.. I have a brilliant CD I bought some years ago. Woman and Country Music! It is fantastic.
Steve Earle,
Ronnie Milsap,Kenny/ Dolly/Willie so many i love.. And i will add on the new ones recommended
We do have Country Music here! Mainly Rural! Mainly Covers from the American C/W Artist. Our Line Dancing Music is always The American Artist.
Some of our big Showbands have done great Country Stuff over the years, But sadly its fading fast.
Family get togethers are so important especially when music is added! All ages sing there own songs and they are carried on through the generations. A must i feel in todays world...
Thank You Again.

Hi Kath,
I hope life is good for you one day at a time at least!!
There is not as much about the Quinn Name as i expected in my book anyway!
This could be due to the fact there are so many from the  different regions here, both North and South... They need a book all to themselves! There are also a lot of different Crest?  which to me  is some what unusual.. They must have been a very individual lot?
Here are some links for you to peruse at your leisure...I have been to "Adare Manor" one of the seats of the quinn clan. Fantastic Place to visit and Stay. Old but fab and somewhat expensive! But worth the visit.

No Jerome
i did not know that! Cannot even imagine it! But he did  get "The Point Venue in Dublin Jumpin when he Played here.
I did go to see "Willie Nelson Last time he was here! We were all very disappointed!  We all left the venue early and headed to a local session near us.  I always loved him, but on that night he was awful... Miss Streisand was the same here a few weeks ago! 180 Euro up to 500 Euro for her tickets! To be up to your knees in mud ? Complete ripoff.

So Jerome,
are you telling me Loretta lynn, Emmylou, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash and all of the older crowd were the real C/W. I was raised on there songs..
I did go to see Garth Brooks twice when he was here ! His Show was absolutely Suberb,  But Allison Krauss and her Band was even Better! Her music sounds different?
