My wife love's the fact that I started playing guitar. She's after me all the time to play a few for her. After all she bought it for me for a Xmas present and was probably the best present ever. Wow this guitar helped me quit smoking ciggeretts, one year Oct. 15. Cut down on watching television too. We love kitchens jams with friends, fiddles, and guitars. This is an interesting thread.

Normal, I call my acoustic Etta after the great blues singer
Etta James. What's yours called??

Hey I'm with South Paw. Boycott Karoke. Very bad for live music. They have it here at a local bar , I attended one time a few years ago and never went back. Bad stuff.

Yes Mike the players are over paid. Its crazy what they ask
for conssesions and such. Hard to afford a game with those prices. Can you guys get the Habs games on T V , or is it blacked out so fans have to pay crazy prices????
Hockey joke- Toronto's Goalie got hit by a bus on the weekend. It went right through his legs. I should'nt talk I'm a BRUIN fan. lol.

Hi Doc Phil, I think S V R was better than Hendrix.at least more polished. I watched some old footage of Freddie King
last nite and its not hard to see Where Steve Ray Vaughn got his licks. Try to find a DVD of Steve Ray Vaughn "Live at the El Mocombo" in Toronto. Truly amazing. Will make the hair on the back of your neck stand strait up.Cool thread and interesting to see what others think.

Been doing good buy.
The move went well, everyone in the family is adjusting quite well to country living. Work has been crazy as usual since I came back..... how are things on the east coast?
Tonight I'm going to see the Habs play Philly!!!! Go Habs Go!

Hi Mike things here are pretty good. Fall in the air with trees turning color, frost in mornings. Nice to see Hockey is back, there are a lot of Hab fans here on the east coast. Hope you enjoy the game.

"who is that Prince watching my Madonna from his Zepplin,
A Beatle maybee". Very interesting Doc Phil. Could almost turn that into a song like George Jones did in country music
in the song "Who's gonna fill their shoes". Very interesting.

I have a fender acoustic that suits me fine. A friend of mine who has played for years told me that it was hard to play compared to Martin, Gibson, Taylor, and some other names,
But I think raw blues sound great on it. But anyway thats just me. Listen to some Big Joe Williams and his homemade nine string guitar and you'll know what I mean. Anyway thats just me.

Zurf wrote:Come on now people. We have these rules for a reason. I'm not really sure what that reason is, but by golly they're rules. You can't go around breaking them and not expecting it to cost you dearly.
Don't pick up a guitar you can't afford.
Don't pick up a good quality guitar that will require you to learn a different style you don't already want to learn.
Don't jamm with other people in the shop if you don't have time to spare to join a band.
:-)

How do you know if you don't try them. I would'nt buy a pair of shoes without trying them on, or buy a car and not test drive it! Ahhh its nice to dream eh.

Wow Daddy Cool that brings back memories. I have a pitcure of myself at three years old with a big burn scab on my face from that horse. My mom baked bread on a coal stove and would get it real hot, I guess I bounced real high, flew in the air and landed face down on the hot stove . Needless to say
I never liked that horse again, although it was my fault. We rode a lot before that happened, lol.No Scar.
That is a cool song, Thanks....Badeye.
I broke the guitar shop rule too. Had a chance to try a Gibson
Hummingbird for 20 minutes at our local shop. Wow a huge difference between the gibson and my fender acoustic. The hummingbird was very easy to play and had great sound.I'm thinking of getting a part time job and save for one.lol.Tried
some Martins as well and liked them all. Want to try a Taylor next. The shop has a room where you can pick up any guitar you want which is very cool. Anyway I've been thinking about that Hummingbird for Three days now.Someday , someday.

Holy SH*T thats a great list. There is no way around it.
