Awesome!  Happy NGD and accessories!  smile  That's just awesome, did he know all that stuff was up there?  wowie!

Joe, this is an issue that is difficult to control.  The Admin has had to place a block for UK users, and unfortunatly the code isn't fool proof; many people not in the UK, like yourself, have had issues.  He is working on trying to find a better way to do this so that so many of the wrong people aren't blocked.  In the meantime, the only alternative is to just block everyone... or have some errors like you are getting.  sad  Most people have found that if they come back another day with a freshly renewed IP address they can get into the songs.  Good luck, and I'm sorry there isn't a better answer for you!

Oh my... YUCK... it does tend to come in threes yes, although sometimes bad news can be a blessing in disguise so perhaps the church issue is one of those and your friend's passing is a lonely fluke that is not to carry two others with it.  Thinking positive thoughts because if you believe it, you can make it happen (sometimes... whatever it is).

I love the story BunBun!

I think most of the folks here know my story, although I suppose there's be a few newbies so I'll give it another shot.  My Dad played since he was a teenager (he still has his first 3/4 Fender and it sounds really nice still!!).  I grew up learning how to read/following along with the music so I could turn the pages for him... sang always.  I sang a lot in school and Dad tried teaching all of us kids at some point or another... I was NEVER interested in the guitar.  Last year, Dad had some back/elbow issues that was causing issues with his hands and the guitar came out for only a very few songs at the campfire.  At that moment I decided I was going to learn how to play because I couldn't stand the thought of the next summer coming and no guitar around the campfire.  I picked up my husbands guitar/found Chordie and within a couple weeks was doing well enough for my hubby to buy me my own.  The rest is history... Dad's doing much better and my playing has inspired him to try more as well as my husband and my son.  We all have an awesome time now playing around on the guitars!!  smile

If your friend has made a songbook public, then yes.  Go to the Public Songbooks page here:  http://www.chordie.com/publicbooks.php

Then do a search on your friend's Chordie Username on the bottom left of the page.

smile  Welcome to Chordie xchef95x!!

I don't have an answer for ya Pix, but I thought leather conditioners were pretty much oil based which sounds safe for a guitar finish.  Hmmm... curious to hear the thoughts of others.

Beautiful!!!

Well congrats and happy NGD to you!

Let's see... if you spent $25 on the guitar... then I say maybe a dinner special for two at Applebee's.  Good luck!  wink

I do remember the post about those.  Good luck!  Do update us on if you find a gem and of course pictures if it is in fact a NGD for you!

Thanks Caromshot!  That's my whole whopping two songs I've written.  I'm not really a "writer" ... but sometimes the mood strikes me.  These two times I happened to take the time to write it all down and make it sound like a song!  LOL!  smile  I really appreciate you taking the time to listen and come all the way back here to comment.  It means a lot!

Hi David!  Welcome to Chordie!  As Roger suggested, please do read the stickys... I suggest starting with this basic one, the Forum Guidelines:  http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=15055

What you will soon find is that Chordie doesn't actually host any of the songs here.  They are hosted all over the internet at other sites and Chordie actually works more like a search engine to make finding your favorite songs easier, as well as displaying and easier to read version of the song.

I hope that with Rogers explanation and mine this all makes a little more sense.  Have a great day, and hope to see you around the forums!

Hello there friend... this song is actually easily found right here on chordie!  smile  It's all over the internet in fact.  It's possible you couldn't find it simply due to the misspelling of calendar... one little slip can do it and frustrate the heck out of you.  LOL!  Here's the link:
http://chordie.com/chord.pere/www.guita … 37515.html

for future reference, please post requests for chords in the "Song Requests" section on the forum.  One of the Acoustic mods will likely be by in a bit to move this thread to that section.  Have a great day smile

I don't have as much time to play around as I did a few months back... so I've been working on one for a few weeks now.  "In my Daughter's Eyes" Martina McBride... It's originally a piano song but Chordie has some chords for it, so I'm working on a decent picking technique to make it sound nice on guitar.  I'll bet a true classical player could make the guitar sing this song out like a piano!

Welcome to Chordie Savanaanavas!

Hunk... also a warm welcome to Chordie.  For future reference, you will usually get a quicker response to a song request by starting your own thread in the song requests section.  Also, before posting a request doing a quick search here on Chordie and the internet is advisable as many songs are easily available like "Till Tomorrow".  Simply click above on the "Artists" tab and type in the search box and you will receive results like this:  http://chordie.com/allsongs.php/songtit … index.html

Hope that helps!  Have a great day!

I do need a new 4mm wetsuit for the winter surf though....

Lol, if you do happen to find a "Talent" vendor...please PM me.

Seriously, "Talent" Vendors are in HIGH DEMAND!  I'll bet that's on everyone's wish list!  LOL!

I actually have a regular job this year, and am so excited to be able to buy for everyone else with MY money (not my husbands "our" money) that I'm too excited to think about myself or wanting anything!  I guess my wish has already come true smile

Very cute poem Phill, but surely you couldn't have been THAT bad when your wife decided to keep you?

Perhaps an ode to the moon?  I LIKE IT!

Thank you very much Matthias for the detailed description of this free general license software!  Because it primarily relates to looking up the chords to a specific song I will leave it here in the song requests section for now... although because there is so much more to it, we may end up moving this to another location within the forum for people to find it better down the road.

I think your friend was near genius for suggesting vamp a plug in be made for Chordino.... and both of you quite "crafty" for creating all of this.  A project for your PhD?  What is your PhD in?  Did you complete?  Shall we call you Dr. Matthias?  CONGRATULATIONS!  And even better... someone else paid for it all!  smile  I will be checking out this program and the plug in for sure!  It looks like windows 7 or mac is being used in the videos... I'm still running XP, do you think this will be an issue?  I do have the day off today and time to "play", so I'll let you know how I fare!

Hi Youngfella!  There's no way I can tab anything out... I'm not anywhere near capable of that yet.  Hopefully someone will show up that can... but it looks like tausend may have an answer.  I'm curious to learn more!  In the meantime, here's a little wiki on the song.  Apparently, if you have a copy of their single it's worth some MONEY!  wink

Welcome to Chordie Tausend!  This looks interesting... I searched online and couldn't find any reviews of the software Sonic Visualiser however.  I am curious to learn more about this.  Could you please take a moment to do a little write up about your experience with the software?  You will need to start a new thread, as we don't want to hijack Youngfella's thread with too much info on software.  I'd really appreciate it!  Thanks!!  smile
