It is so strange that almost everybody on CHORDIE is going back in time. I think but I'm not 100% sure that, most of us are around the age of 40-45. About the music you hear now, I know little. This music is called R&B, I HATE THIS WORD USED FOR ARTISTS LIKE BEYONCE KNOWLES, no rhythm and definitely no blues.
My personal list was BEATLES, BEE GEES, STONES.
Later on I would have another list with Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, until I discovered the real blues, and rock: my biggest love was CCR. DO NOT FORGET THE UNDERESTIMATED GROUPS, Slade, the Kinks, the Who

I am not in the right mood, but my bridge or verse 2&3 can be written in minor (melancholic) chords. Are you able to play this like I wrote it? or will it be different? I think that if you play it, and I play it that there will be some similarities.

Hey James, there was a new topic, where we were ask to describe ourselves by making a song. It is one of the greatest topics I saw, it is a pity that the same song with the chords above will be interpreted by 100 players will result in 100 different songs, although I am convinced that we will have a few similar songs. I AM NOTE ABLE TO READ NOTES, AND MUSIC, (I amp too lazy), but there has to be a way to figure it out?

I would be glad if we could start up a kind of " discussing" about recent new albums. Not from obscure groups, but released by BIG NAMES like the brand new album from CROWDED HOUSE.
Fantastic songs, great lyrics, but still (except for the drummer) typical Crowded House, and not to get in the BIG REUNION phenomenon, like the POLICE, one for the road, two for the money....
NO, they started again with a brand new album, and as far as I could listen 'my downloads) it looks great. The "FINNS" didn' loose their skills, attractive and catchy melodies.

This brings me to the question, what and when can you speak of "new wave", in particular, what is covered by the word "new wave" and is it the offspring of punk?

I think we all love funny stories and facts. It all started after watching SPINAL TAP, where all the drummers had accidents.

Hi boot, you really are brilliant, I don't know if I asked this already, do you have a website?
Concerning Mexican guitars, I got one little one, just across the border in Arizona (near Tombstone) a name always linked with the CCR song TOMBSTONE shadow

Hey BIGJIN, I am in love too, with that Martin, but I think that only "professionals" can try this one out. Would it sound better than a D-45?
BTW, the D-50 costs about 30.000$ and not 100.000$

Well Patrick, I am a PRS freak, so I mailed them with the question about a year ago, if they had plans to produce an acoustic PRS, they answered NO, but that it could happen in a few years.
I am just familiar with MARTIN acoustic guitars, and also GIBSON (Dove, Hummingbird & SJ-200)
I am greedy to try TAYLOR  COLLINGS and SANTA CRUZ
Strange fact: collings is actually producing electric guitars.

I was told that Santa Cruz guitars are more for fingerpicking, but will they sound nice using a plectrum. I know, I am almost always talking about SUPER BRANDS, when in your (super country, I love so much) you find guitars like SEAGULL, GODIN: can you tell me more about the Canadian Brands?

Same subject, other guitar.

WHAT IS YOUR OPINION OR THEORY OR ANSWER CONCERNING THIS:
- 1) What justifies the exuberant $$$$$$$$$$$$ price for the GIBSON LES PAUL STANDARD 58-59-60.
I was told that the 59 is the best.
I also am aware that the PAF's were used in the 1957 Goldtop.
STRANGE FACT: the GIBSON LES PAUL CUSTOM, 58-59-60, often with 3 PAF's, is a lot cheaper, but still very expensive, than the Standards, while the Custom was in fact the top of the line Gibson.
- 2) What about the Gibson Les Paul Standard reissues models 58-59-60, are they considered to be as good, I read sometimes that they use wood 50 years old, and using the wood they make these reissues.
- 3) what about the GIBSON LES PAUL STANDARD JIMMY PAGE, is it worth the money?

I wrote a topic about PRS, knowing that PRS produces their SE serie in Korea, I was just curious if they are real good, better close to the US made PRS. I have a PRS SE Tremonti, really smooth to play, and having a great sound, even that great that I ask myself the question: would you hear the difference between a PRS SE soapbar, and an US soapbar.

Same thing: are you able to hear the difference between a MEXICAN STRAT/ US STRAT?

Again a guitar question.
ABOUT GRETSCH (now Fender?)
They have a few pretty nice models, but I had never the opportunity to play a Gretsch, because I think there are no guitar stores here who distribute Gretsch.

I just wanted to have information about 2 of their guitars, both world famous.
- Gretsch WHITE FALCON.
- Gretsch WHITE PENGUIN.
The original white penguin is considered as the HOLY GRAIL of the guitars, having an out of proportion price, concerning the old and original guitars.
The WHITE PENGUIN is back on the market isn't it? BUT WHAT MADE IN PARTICULAR THE OLDER WHITE PENGUIN so special?
The penguin reissues are they very close to the original issue, do they sound different? What is so special about them: on purpose $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ prices, or justified.

I told that I have a PRS Custom 24.
BUT does someone has experience with this brand?
Thanks to the low $, I was able to buy 3 different PRS guitars.
PRS made these guitars only 2-3 years, 1990-1992, to attack fender. They DO sound better too.
- PRS: 3 single Fralin domino shaped coils.
- PRS: Double single single (= humbucker) and single-single
- PRS H - S - H.
Original USA guitars, they started to produce an SE, s-s-s combination.
Is there someone who can tell me more about these guitars?

WHAT ABOUT THE SE series, made in KOREA, is there a difference between an SE custom compared with the US model, or a soapbar SE versus a US soapbar?

I don't know what guitar you prefer, but the guitar I will NEVER sell is my PRS Custom 24.
After tuning this beauty, it stays in tune for months. The sound is so fantastic, compared with my other guitars. (Only the telecaster is close to it)
MY LIST IS
- PRS
- FENDER TELECASTER
- GIBSON
Go to a music store try a PRS and you will be lost probaly. This was my first expensive guitar.
The way to try them out was simple: sitting on an amp, playing a few electrics, NOT TOUCHING THE AMP, you could feel the sound, entering your body through.., you know, and PRS, never heard about that guitar, and being on paper, a GIBSON or FENDER man, I was able to kill to get that guitar.

Hey Cytania, there are so many amps today. I had money on an account to spend for a holiday, to spend for special things. I think the Fender Cybertwin, has so many different kinds of amps in it, being a cross breed tubes and digital. I love 2 things: playing acoustic, 99% playing it without an amp. To keep my guitars intact, I bought 2 mics, like in the sixties, and if you keep distance, it sounds nice. But my acoustic guitars are giving a lot of sound. Playing especially on the Martin HD-28, you can hear it from a great distance. Having an acoustic amp, I love to plug an electric guitar in the amp, and you will have a fantastic, crystal clear sound. On the other hand (depending on my mood) I love to play with a lot of distortion, reverb, in fact my Cybertwin provides me every possible sound.

It is on one hand a nice topic, and on the other a sad topic.
WHY: you need money.
I told how my collection started, it started in fact in a sad way, someone asked me for money but gave his guitar a MARTIN HD 28, I still feel guilty in a matter of speaking, but he needed the money, to spend buying drugs, I helped this guy a lot, often without asking money for a consultation, but I did save that man, who spend a lot of money to buy heroin, by prescribing him medication, so he didn't need no longer to buy on the street.
Another one, badly addicted to alcohol, had to pay so much money to pay contributions, and he knew that I was a guitar freak, I even paid him more than he asked, because I got a GIBSON LES PAUL CUSTOM (black) 1968, and a fender strat 1964. Why do I feel guilty sometimes? Because I am not like that. Also I had opportunities to marry a billionaires daughter, one of the most beautiful girls I've ever seen, back in 1982, but DRINKING like hell. So I broke up, it would have made me very, very rich, she felt that I was not so happy, and she even tried to give me a FERRARI, or tried to convince me by showing me how rich she was, but I am OR A FOOL, not accepting this, OR an IDIOT, I just don't like the fact to be dependant, to be the husband of. Probably I am an exception, because she called me a lot, when I was married, for years, telling about her boyfriends who just wanted 1 thing $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. How strange this may sound, and even how bad I like $$$$$, THIS NOT WHO I AM. I worked for every cent, I traeted a lot of people whithout asking money, now I don't work no longer due to an accident, I am very well insured, and if you compare the $ with the €, I even put myself in trouble, before I realised it, by buying guitars in the USA.
It sounds weird, especially the fact that I loved that girl, I loved drinking too, but was never an addict. IS THIS A BAD HABIT, or ATTITUDE? I can only tell you that I hate to take advantage in cases like I mentionned
ONE FACT IS FOR SURE: the value of my collection is already 3x the original value. Some, a lot, are collecting stamps, dolls. In the situation where I'm in now, my guitars make me happy.

Besides Johnny Cash, there was another quit famous country star, with the name Johnny Paycheck.
At first I thought this was a BIG joke, but the guy sold quit a lot of records.
Isn't he a genius to use the name PAYCHECK & compete with CASH?

As far as I know, you guys are super, because it is not a very easy topic, I know that the slaves in, just some states, ALABAMA, MISSISSIPI, GEORGIA, LOUISIANA, the most important COTTON states. It was also a kind of communication, and they were singing songs, in "African", their owners didn't like that, because, somewhere they were afraid, not understanding their language, but this "problem" disapeared mostly with the second and for sure with the third generation, lyrics changed, they started to believe in "God" and the songs they sang were primitive gospel songs, roots of gospel and singing in a specific rhytme, starting the "blues". I think they were not allowed to have instruments, but they were inventive, and a bass string and a "thing" to have resonnance, was all they needed.
But, is there an "NATIVE INDIAN" influence?
Bluegrass, country, I think that especially the Irish people were responsable for that OTHER kind of music, if you listen to IRISH folk songs, you can understand more. Concerning the south, you had like you wrote a huge influence by FRENCH and Spanish immigrants. MOST of people think that only LOUISIANA was French, it was far bigger, as it was for SPANISH too.
If they didn't sell their property, and if Spanish territorium would still exists, I think that what we know now as the USA, would be approximately 50-60% smaller.
It is still unbelievable that the ENGLISH people, popped up everywhere where other immigrants were. CANADA: FRENCH, but wars with who? British soldiers.
South Africa: DUTCH, again British attack. They had an extremely high urge to expand. Thety were also responsable for the FRENCH-BELGIUM (FLANDRES AT THAT TIME) - NETHERLANDS
Take a map you will see ENGLAND being an Island, controlling the very, maybe the most important  sea, and channel in the world, and on the other side what is now French-Flanders, Flanders - Netherlands, having more coastline than the British, and the fact that the Netherlands had all the control and rights (east India Cooperation ) so the king was "not amused". Just a little bit of history. I am even now UNABLE to understand why the British Government, having it almost all, started always wars, to obtain places where other settlers lived.

Some people tell, I'm looking good, yeah good
    E                          A             E         B7        E
But I'm not really self assured, it's like discussing food
    E                          A             E           B7       E
Even if I don't look good, blue eyed blond, I do feel good.

    C          D       G   C     E      Am     D7     G7
I can only tell you this, I enjoye my life like it is

Very short, but that's what popped up reading the topic. I promess you I'll work it out later. To go from C to E , I touch in a kind of fingerpick style, starting on fret 3 over 2 and to the E chord.
It looks bluesy, and it sounds a very little bit bluesy, but I change or switch often chords, from E to Bm, or D7. It's a pity that we can't hear this songs. Like the "MCCormick " song, when I play it, it would probable a lot different, also my, at this moment a bit short song. I will complete it, but acoustic: I love "tricky bridges", but I am able to write without a problem 10 songs in 1 day, shake and mix these songs, and I am sure there is at least 1 good song.
I wrote (not on paper, not recorded a huge amount of (more ballads) songs, reflecting bad & good events and periods in my life. But, Jesus, we really have to meet each other guys, or we have to find a way, to share our songs, better to listen to these songs, don' have a clue how to burn them on a CD, and send copies to others. DON'T FORGET, IF WE'LL SHOULD DO THIS YOU BETTER PROTECT YOUR SONG.
This gives me a question, if I, or You, compose a song, and we register the song for copyrights, in your country, do you need to register the song in other countries too?
SUPER TOPIC, a REAL GENIAL TOPIC. It takes time, but I just wrote music and lyrics like they popped up. I am glad that most of my songs don't need a lot of correction, but playing guitar together with my best friend, they almost end in the same way, late at night, tired, he put his (my) guitar down, and suddenly, half sleepy, I continue to find fitting chords, while doing this, almost sleeping, we have some real pearls, of course all this is subjective. BIG PROBLEM, HOW TO RECORD THEM, using the ZOOM H4, with super mics, and than using a small device, like BOSS MR MICRO?? WOULD THIS BE USEFUL?? HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP

I read somewhere that tis song was influenced, by an accident where Jerry Garcia lost 2 fingers?

I don't know if the same thing occurs in the USA.
But here in Europe, they are OBSESSED with the fact to become famous in the USA.
How many European groups tried already to be big there. They should limit themselves just here in Europe. Artists, very popular here, and selling a lot of songs, are only happy if they start to be popular in the USA.
I follow the idea that the music market is more than big enough here.
- Belgium: 10,274,595
- Netherlands: 16,491,461
- the UK: 59,778,002
- Germany: 83,251,851
- Italy: 59,715,625
- France: 60,765,983
- Spain: 45,061,274
- Scandinavia (Norway, Denmark and Sweden) : about 20.000.000
Vatican City: 900, probably almost bishops and priests/nuns is not very important.
If you start to add countries like Poland, Russia... you will have 200.000.000 people more.
So my conclusion and advise is : being a band, or a solo artist: the market here is 3 times bigger than the USA.
I do agree that the diversity and countries have a different musical taste. In France they will first go for the option to cover a song by a French artist, but this will affect your wallet too, in a positive sense. As an artist, with a little knowledge of the different countries, you have to succeed.
I wrote a few songs, and it is for me, like in Canada, very easy to start performing in another language.

DIFFICULT TOPIC: YES
