I imagine that our fearless leader, Per (aka Admin) has taken note of the suggestion and will consider it in his updates.  I don't know anything about the Nashville number system (although when I get some spare time I have a feeling I will be doing a little research myself).  I do know that Per is a pretty busy guy with Chordie being more of a hobby for him than much else... but perhaps he will consider it if there is enough request for it!  smile  WELCOME to Chordie Teledluxe!

LOL... the chicken head's kinda creepy... but awesome playing!  I looked through a few other vids and found one without the chicken head... much better (and we can hear your voice better too!).  Thanks for sharing BaldGuitarDude!

Welcome to the Chordie forums Chirotay, Aisake, and rwallingford!

You'll find a LOT of songs are indexed right here on Chordie... so do search around.  smile  Remember that Chordie is more like a search engine and songs are not hosted here, as well, lyrics and chords can't be posted on the forums.  Take a minute to read through the stickies at the top of each section, and know that there are lots of folks here to help out.  Most people are quite helpful and friendly!  Thanks for the hand Ian and Jerry!!!  smile  You guys are great and a great example of what Chordie is about!!

Aisake, take a look at the "resources" tab and you'll find online chord charts.
For a question next time that is not related to the original post, please begin your own thread.

Used for sure if you can find one you like, but you'll need to get your hands on it and have someone that knows something about guitars come with you if you're a true beginner and don't know what you're looking at.  Another option is SX guitars.  Good prices, better quality than Squres, but as far as I know you can only buy online without touching them first.  Rondo Music sells them, and does have a fantastic return policy.  I bought my son and husband SX's last Christmas and they love their electrics.

Welcome to Chordie Bald-Dude!  Glad to see another guitar lover with a sense of humor join the site... it's a little addictive, so be careful here.  wink  Lots of good folks from all walks of live hang out here.  Never been to Vegas, but it's on my list of places to visit especially right now while we're getting buried with snow.

I recently found out that my mother has written 3 songs over the last few months. Her cousin has put them to music. I am hoping the songwriting gene has been passed to me. I was never much of a writer, although I do remember a poem I wrote for my wife that may be able to be rearranged to a song. I wrote it for her a LONG time ago and then transposed it for her in Calligraphy. I would like her to pull it out some time to see if I can rearrange it to a song.

I'll bet if you ask her to pull it out and tell her why, she'll be more than happy to.  Just do it!  It sure is an awesome feeling for yourself as well as the one you write it for.  I've played this a few times in front of a group of people and it seems to get really good reviews.  I played it the weekend before last at our local bar when I got a phone call to come down with my guitar because there was an older fella in there with his guitar.  The bar got quiet, a few started tapping along to the beat on the bar, and everyone clapped and a few asked "Who wrote THAT song?  I LIKE THAT!"  My HUSBAND's grin was beaming as I told everyone that I did and that it was for HIM.  (come to find out the fella in there who couldn't say enough nice things about my cheap-o laminate top guitar and my playing had toured in the good ole days with a few popular Nashville bands also!).  I think my husband is just as proud of the "ownership" of this song as I am.

Get to work!  wink

A fun time had by all no doubt!  Great job Wayne, and how nice to be asked to do another!  Cudos my friend, and finding others to play with seems to be quite priceless.  Every time I think I've found someone nearby they tend to let me down.  I'm glad Tommy showed back up for one song with you smile

ahhh... July might be even more doable for us than June, so I'm glad to hear that.  You had me going there for a group camping experience in PA... sounds good, but that's for another time.  LOL!  And um, hot showers can be "fun" if you save water and... errr... never mind.  wink

Hey now, a super cool steam mop could be a nice gift (I am thinking of asking for one for Christmas myself) ... you'd be surprised how, when cleaning is a primary job, a new cleaning tool can be fun to use.  BUT... another gift to go with to SHOW that you love her for her and not just all the awesome cleaning she does around the house, along with the mop, was a very smart choice!  smile  HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Mr. & Mrs. Zurf as well as a Happy NGD!

As this is about 3 hours closer to home, it's more likely that we might attend this one rather than the other... assuming it doesn't fall within the weekend of some Biker or tattoo event the hubster is planning to attend.  Keep us posted!  smile

Welcome to Chordie Paul!  I'll second what Roger has said.  This place can get addictive, by the time I'm done working the weekend I tend to spend WAYYYY too much time on here on my days off!  LOL!

hmmm... I like camping as long as it's not too cold out, as in, during weather in which bug spray is a must in the evenings.  Because I have kids, and the hubster and I don't get a week of vacation pay, a weekend camping trip would be a requirement.  Cups for drinks sounds perfect for our style of camping (much easier than trying to lug in beer and lug out empty cans/bottles).  Price is very important... the hubby loves to fish and doesn't get nearly enough time to do it (but what are the laws there?  In NY you have to have a NY fishing license ... so is there a license requirement too?).  Plan it up!  I look forward to perk'd coffee and pork tenderloin slow cooked over the coals!

Welcome to Chordie KJ!  Yup and yup and yup to everything everyone has said.  It's the copyright holders throwing their weight around.  It stinks... but please feel free to jump in on some conversations here with other Chordians.  You'll find that many have some of the music which has been blocked and can help you out if there's something in particular you're looking for (via email not posted on the site... we can't post anything copyright ON the forums).  Check out the song requests section and join in some of our fun!  smile

Selso... I hadn't even read this before I commented on facebook about your post sounding like song lyrics... so, there's something there for certain.

I'm sorry to hear you're going through a rough time in your life... life can really suck sometimes.  If it were me going through this yuck and guitar slump I would set the guitar aside, put on some earphones and blare some music that I enjoy listening to.  One day soon you'll grab the guitar and start playing a bit and next thing you know you won't be able to stop.  Find a popular song that speaks to you... makes you cry, or makes you mad, or just MOVES you in SOME way and you'll find a desire to want to learn it.  Best wishes my friend!

Are you familiar with Antonio de Torres, the father of the modern classical guitar? He was a top shelf luthier that believed the top was by far the most important factor. To prove this he built a guitar with paper- mache back and sides...

Now we don't have that guitar to listen to but David of the "Official Luthiers Forum" built a replica using cardboard for the back and sides and you can listen to that guitar here... http://www.guitarsbydavidlaplante.com/a … eplica.mp3       I just thought you'd find that interesting smile Sounds darn good to me big_smile

WOW!  That sounds fantastic!

FANTASTIC!  I love the video, the tuba, and can just feel the fun and excitement you all had!  "wish I was there" doesn't begin to express the true feeling of jealousy by the rest of us Chordians.  Here's hoping by next year my family will be able to make it down.  We desperately need to make a trip to NC anyway as it's where we'd prefer to be living!  smile  The bonus here is that by next year maybe I'll feel a little more comfy playing with a great bunch of guitarists like yourselves.  I also have a strong desire to give Mr. Toots a big ole hug and plant a wet one on his cheek!  I'm only sad we didn't get to see a video of Toots playing one of his funny story songs sad  Any more videos you guys are hiding from us??? wink

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Chordie friends!  I work at a hair salon near a huge Indian reservation.  I ask many of my customers that are clearly of Native origin if they celebrate the holiday and have been very surprised by the YES.  I did a little research into this and have come to find that many do celebrate... and what they celebrate is similar to what I believe in celebrating.  A HUGE thanks to the Natives that taught the early Europeans how to live off the land of America, without their kindness so many would have perished for starvation.  While my forefather's did some aweful things after that with their selfishness towards the Natives, I celebrate with thoughts of kindness, sharing, and love for those around me.  I am most thankful for the ability to put on a big feast for my family -- food, shelter, clothing, heat, and many around that love me and whom I love!

hmmm... never heard of this, but I looked it up to try to listen.  All I could find for a music file was this:  http://ilike.myspacecdn.com/play#Betwee … 96a53d501b

Soooo... maybe someone far more talented than myself can take a listen and help you out!  WELCOME to CHORDIE!!

Makes sense to me Z... if you tuned down a half step then capo on first fret you'd be right back to standard tuning...

smile  Well here's hoping it's as quick and painless as possible ... surgery and hospitals, no matter what, is not fun!  I know my mom had hers out years ago.  She was warned with having to eat a healthier diet and all.  I think she did for a few years, but she hasn't really been watching her intake all that much in the past 5 or so and she's doing great.  She was back to work within a day or two of the operation if I remember correctly too.  smile  Take it easy, and have someone make you a nice dinner for when you get home.  The boiled "steak" and unseasoned mashed taters never do quite satisfy!

I love seeing things like this.  We sit there and try and try and complain that our fingers hurt from playing... and here's this guy without any fingers to complain about doing it, and doing it well.  Thanks for sharing Z!

Welcome again to the forums Dwight!  I'm glad to see you popped in to introduce yourself over here.  GREAT bunch of people and a neat "chordie family" we have here smile  Like Tandm, there's a few others that know a bit about frets... you may just get a ton of info here if you want it... Chordie members have a way of inspiring others to do things they never thought they could before!

Roger... that's FUNNY "YOB", ha ha... I'm going to have to use that on my son LOL!
