I have a question how do you make a copyright symbol  the closest I can come is (c) is there a word processor that can affix this ?

Russ - In MS word, simply click on Insert, choose symbol and the copyright symbol © should be on the list.

Welcome Rgivens_10,

I am by no means an expert, but others have said, that by posting their songs here, the date / time stamp actually gives them added protection as far as song "rights" go, makes sense to me. Chordie is a permanent record of the owners publishing date. I have also heard of some original youtube type artists using this service:

http://myfreecopyright.com/

I have no experience either way, just offering some suggestions.

Hi chicago, welcome to chordie.

No luck finding the chords, but here is youtube link if anybody can help you..

Very cool article Toney. I hope the exposure brings you additional success.

A post by Russell on another thread got me thinking about my Mom and Mother's Day, and instead of replying an OT post there, I really felt it deserved it's own thread.

So, first off.. Happy Mother's Day to all Moms out there in Chordie Land. I hope you have the best of days and you are able to enjoy the day with your loved ones. Moms are certainly the most special of people, and I thought I'd share a bit about my mum here.

Mom raised us 3 kids on her own since I was about 10 (with an older brother and a younger sister). In the late'70s she moved us from a depressed economy in upstate NY to a booming area in Raleigh NC and worked a full time job while finishing her Master's Degree at night school. There were tough times for sure, but there was never a lack of love. It was during this time that she bought a pair of beginner guitars and lessons for me while trying to teach herself with Mel Bay books. Her career was education and was always amazed how quickly I picked up things that she work hard on, or could seem to never get.

Mom always loved singing. She could always do the harmonizing or "flat" singing in the choir - I thought she was just off key, but she did it on purpose. She didn't necessarily believe in all of the traditional church teachings, but she loved to sing, so she was there every Sunday.

My Mom loved Donovan, and I was able to take her to see him during my college years. She also loved Sinatra and Neil Diamond, but would jam with us kids to Zeppelin, Sabbath, AC/DC, Aerosmith, etc during my hard rock days. We had more than 1 garage band jamming in our basement in our those days, and Mom put up with it all (and  I dare say maybe even enjoyed a bit of it).

Anyway... Put an end to a long post. My Mom (Helene was her name) died 8 years ago at the young age of 58 from brain cancer. It was sudden and unexpected as she was otherwise in fantastic health. Her Grandkids were her life and she had so much more to offer them and us.

I miss you Mom and I love you very much. I hope you all have a Mom as cool as mine was and that you will enjoy her while you've got her.

Microsoft is the evil empire - download FireFox, it's safer, better, has built in spell check, and you there are all kinds of neat add on-ons, custom screens and ad blockers - but don't use them on chordie - the ad's pay for the service wink

Man.... you are nuts - and even though I haven't met her, your wife must be an angel!

I will NOT store your old piano... but if it takes up too much room, I will store some of your "spare" gits!

Congrats on the find and good luck in your new restoration project my friend big_smile

Per, I don't know how difficult it would be to write the code, but I like your idea of expanding the list ... Today, This week, This Month, This Year, All Time... I think that would be a great feature!

Wow, a woman who enjoys a fine whiskey is a rare thing indeed. A good friend of mine (a Kentuckian) introduced me to Makers' Mark many years ago and it has been my go to sippin whiskey ever since.

Deb - do you cook? do you do the other thing? - I may propose, but I have to know if you do the other thing well

....... I mean do you iron big_smile

My wife won't iron so I am thinking about trading her in (this is a secret don't tell her)

How 'bout Yama Montana (an anti hanna montana kinda thing)

From wiki:

Yama (Sanskrit: यम), also known as YamarÄ ja (यमराज) in India, Yanluowang (閻羅王) or simply Yan (é–») in China, and Enma Dai-ÅŒ (閻魔大王) in Japan, is the lord of death, first recorded in the Vedas.

When you going to head down this way? Beers on me and I'll even throw ya a steak on the grill! Peace! Pix

That sounds real good Pix - I just gotta pick out a weekend and make it happen. My youngest is in baseball, ties up pretty much every Saturday through June, that and traveling with work now (doing a job in West Virginia), I am just not motivated to get in the car on the weekends.

We usually do a beach trip in June - A diversion to your place may be in order!

No! Oh allright then, i guess they dont have the same appeal.

Old Doll.

Doll, I have no doubt that my wife would be more than happy to store those goods. She has a closet full of shoes, more boxes than I can count, yet every time we travel to the mountains, she has to go shoe shopping at the outlet stores.

I don't get it, I have 3 pairs and they last forever: brown, black and sneakers, what else do ya' need? (ok now that I think about it I have a few pair of boots also, and I do love my watches) big_smile

Congrats Pix - All I can say is it seems you have more gits than you have sense big_smile big_smile

Actually, I know you and I am sure you have invested wisely. And since you recently just gave away a guitar, you needed to replace it. I'll make you an offer - If you ever need to hide a purchase from your wife, you have my address and can always have new gear sent to me. I promise to take good care of it!

Looking forward to the review (and I'd love to hear a clip of that Taylor you've got too)!

Interesting post Pix - I have been searching for the "right" strings since I started playing - and I have only 1 primary guitar! ( instead of the 6 + "others" you mention). The thought that different strings work best on different gits makes sense, but just the idea of the additional trial and error tires me!

I'm done with elixers (see previous posts) due to breakage. I've tried many other brands, and do believe I have settled on the Markley "Alchemy" (what I have on now) or Martins - the Claptons Choice have great tone, seemed to last better than others and stay in tune great. My new Tak cutaway doesn't  have the volume of the cheap Yammi dread I had been playing, so I am thinking of going to mediums. So, I'll just be adding another chapter to the endless search.

There's a great video on youtube - starts off with a close up that shows the picking pattern really good.

oasis sucks. haha, i watched a documentry that called them the 'biggest band of all time'. no. they're not. and if they are, most of the worlds population must have absolutly no musical taste at all.

umm. most stuff today is garbage.

"Biggest band of all time"?. Honestly, other than this forum, I have never even heard of Oasis. I readily admit, I am not all hip on today's music and I may have heard an Oasis song on the radio but didn't recognize it as them - That said, if they were or are "the biggest of all time", my best guess is that I would have heard of them at least. I can't name a single "Oasis" song. Maybe I am missing something and need to check them out.
