I'm searched and am surprised that I couldn't find anything for this song, it must have not been so popular.  Perhaps another member will jump in here and try to help out, if you're still looking????

I've never heard of it, did a search myself and also could not find it.  Perhaps someone will jump in here that has.  In the meantime, keep searching and see if you can find a version of the song recorded online that others could listen to and maybe someone can help out that way?  Welcome to Chordie!

Nice story Toots!  All of you really, it's great stuff!  I've considered going to some nursing homes myself Dadstring, but just haven't pushed myself enough yet to do it.  I'm scared.  I think I'm scared to sit there by myself and sing in front of people more than anything else as I haven't done it too much.  I still need to work on that stage fright.  I imagine a nursing home though would be a great place to do it.

I  enjoy most kinds of music so my list of songs I have played is very long. The list of songs I have played well is not as long.

I'm with Deadstring!  smile  I just organized my binder of music the other day and there's a LOT of stuff in there that I try regularly, but what I can play well is another story!

If it's what it sounds like (i.e., a learning opportunity sailing on big water) Annapolis, MD is your best bet for Sea Cadets.  It's home of the US Naval Academy and not terribly far away - all on good roads.  There are likely to be a number of places along the southern Potomac (everything from Washington, DC down is tidally influenced) or perhaps the lower James (Richmond down is tidal) or Rappahannock (Fredericksburg down is tidal).  If it's associated with Boy Scouts, send me a private message or a Facebook message as I have a dear friend who works for Boy Scouts and could look up the local camps and such for you.

You've got the right campground.  You've got the right weekend.  If your son isn't in Sea Cadets that weekend, come down and bring him along and I'll give him schoolin' on rafts, canoes, kayaks, and boat safety in moving water.  Shoot, if he's a Boy Scout find out the badge requirements and we'll try and cover them for him and find someone to sign off.  It's a family-friendly campground and river.

Sea Cadets is a program partially sponsored by the Navy, so it will be held at some Naval academy or barracks of some sort or another.  It's a pretty neat program, they go once a month, and boot camp is similar to real boot camp (but only 2 weeks for the teens).  When he's done with High School he'll go into the Navy as an E3, or eligible for Scholarships to College, or heck it'll look good on a job application!  I jokingly call it "big kid boy scouts".  They actually do have different pins they can earn though, so I'll look into that as well and see (I know at least there's one for community service, so I'm sure any boat related stuff would be good for him!).

Thanks for the info on the other locations not too far away!  I'll check next month when he goes and see what we can figure out!  Either way, I'm excited to get away from home and hang out with some guitar folks!  I'm not overly excited about fishing, but I have no problem keeping myself busy with some quiet time!  smile  My hubby will LOVE it tho!

Paul... are you bringing the Mrs. along too?

editing my own post to remove a question and add the info I found instead (answering myself LOL)

This is the weekend of July 15-17 right? and...
The campground name is Lowwater Bridge Campground.  It's in Bentonville, Virginia. You can Google map it with this address: 192 Panhandle Road
Bentonville, VA 22610.

My son has just signed up for Sea Cadets and will have to go to boot camp sometime this summer.  I need to find where the nearest one is to this camping spot and cross fingers that it happens to fall around the same time!  That would be a guaranteed in for us!  I KNOW there's a camp for him somewhere in VA!  Hubby and I already discussed sending the girls to the grandmothers and making his boot camp our vacation this summer smile

Searched and could only find the lyrics... perhaps one of our awesome ear'ed members will jump in here when they have a minute and see if they can figure it out for you smile

Hi Mickey, I did a search online and couldn't find anything but lyrics.  Perhaps another member will jump in and try to help out.  Do you have a link to a video by chance that might help?  Thanks!  And, WELCOME TO CHORDIE!  smile

Sorry guys... I've been holding onto the package for a bit here... my son was using some of the learning dvd's in there and I didn't want to just take any of them out and not put them back in.  Also, I've wanted to add something of some sort of value to the box before just sending it back out (other than just a couple more picks as it's become QUITE more than just a package of pics now!!).  I expect this will be going out sometime this week (by Thursday is my plan) to the next lucky chordian.

Jeff... I do believe this is going to a NEW recipient!  smile  At least... I think so looking at the growing list on the print out!  smile  I'll update as soon as it's been sent!

off topic... went to get a pedicure the other day and there was a REALLY hunky, bulky, attractive man there that had a manicure AND a pedicure.  Let me just say, he received a LOT of attention from all the women sitting near him getting their nails and feet done, as well as from the nail specialists.  You might be pleasantly surprised if you had a pedicure done (ahhhh the relaxation of a foot massage)!  LOL!  It's a little cheaper than a new guitar too!  hee hee!

Ummm - Welcome to Chordie!  As a total and utter newbie, I suggest you start out at justinguitar.com -- everything on the site is free (unless you WANT to donate money) and it will walk you through the basics.  You'll learn what the string names are, how to tune a guitar, the differences in steel strings and nylon strings, where the headstock is, the nut, the frets, how to read a chord chart and tabs ... etc... and then will teach you three basic chords to start with (A,D,E) and there are a million songs you can play with three basic chords (I started with "Leaving on a Jet Plane" John Denver).  Justin will also give you pointers like whitewater55 said about practicing.  And YES your fingers will hurt like HECK for maybe a few weeks.  You'll WANT to practice more, your mind will be ready but your fingers won't.  If you can make yourself stick with it for three months (force yourself when the going gets tough, go slower when you want to go faster, and do the practice) you'll be playing more tunes and learning more chords in no time!

GOOD LUCK!  And feel free to come back here and chat it up with us.  We were ALL brand new newbies at some point.  I found Chordie just a couple days into learning how to play and asked all kinds of "stupid" questions.  Everyone was willing to help and answer every one of them!  smile  I love this site soo much and all the members!

Happy Valentine's Day DaddyCool!

Jim Yates, I see you've been a member for a while, but this is your first time posting in the forum.  Sadly, I've had to edit your very helpful post for this member as copyright lyrics cannot be posted in the forum.  The only time copyright lyrics can be posted is if they are your own wholly owned material (and this is generally in the songwriting forum).  Please take a moment to read the stickies at the top of each section.  This section's stickie can be found here:  http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=120  and the general guidelines to the forum here:  http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=15055  --- you MAY email a member privately (click on the email link below their name in the post) or give a one liner to a song.  I have tried to leave as much of the wording as possible to help the member know where the changes are in the song that you posted.  If you have any questions please feel free to ask!  smile

Welcome to Chordie Peng31 ... you may find that many people don't go out of their way to tab out music for new members.  It's nothing personal, we just find often people come here and request something but never come back again to even look and see that a member has worked hard to help them.  I suggest you take a few moments to look around the site, introduce yourself, and get involved in some discussion.  Be sure to check out the stickies at the top of each section, and let us know if you've tried to search for this song online.  Most folks here are quite friendly and helpful.

Hi there BuckbyRick and welcome to Chordie!  There's a whole lot more here than just the forum, and songs that have been indexed.  Above you will see a tab called "resources".  Click on that.  Then the first link on that page is "A large chord chart" click on that one.  You can scroll down and see nearly every chord you could ever want.  When you find the one you like (like F and B) you can then click on the individual chord and see alternate ways to play it as well!

Take a moment to look through the forums and read the stickies at the top of section and jump right in to some discussions.  Most folks here are quite friendly and willing to offer a helping hand.  smile
