Deadeye when I was younger drifting around from place to place your song reminded me of many a biker I met. Men on the run from relationship break ups.  Your chorus: is spot on. I enjoyed the way you did it on soundcloud.  Those words below of yours  bring back many a memory of Bikers I knew.
Girl I got nothing left to hold but the  throttle.
I got nothing left to kiss except the  bottle.
The open road sends an  invitation.
So I ride like hell with no  destination.

that is a pretty cool line

Very floyd-y. I'm surprised that none of the reviewers picked up on that.

Is that an Ibanez EX365 in the photo?

like a zeppelin/ Floyd  mix was my impression of the first one, with a little Ron Jeremy thrown in on the side.

enjoyed it Neo

i wanted thank every one who listen to and left comments on the songs i posted, i truly appreciate you taking the time to listen and give your opinions on them.
having said that i want to apologize to my chordie friends for taking so long to tell you that.
ive sat down many times to make a reply or post a comment on another thread and delete it after reading it back to myself, because it did not seem to come across as i intended it to. so i fall back on the old saying better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
so again my apologies and thanks

Not to "squash" the conversation, but I'm sure we all have "bean" waiting for the response from the head pickler here on Chordie.
My intent is not to "pepper" you with "sage" advice, just to "leek" out a few good lines.
"Zucchani(t)" just about anything if it is brined in vinegar (apparently  even eels- arrgh:(  )

I don't want to "beet" this thread so I will conclude by saying -

"Lettuce" all be thankful for pickles."
"Peas" be with you all !
So with that said - it's time to "end(ive)" this piece and  get the "Mojo" on !! smile
It certainly would be thre right thing to do - give him a "turn(ip) !

Jim  smile

p.s.  I hope my comments won't be the cause of any "rhubarbs" among us!

Quite possibly the oddest post I've ever read ... love it! lol

well apprently i have not been DILLegent on keeping up with  the post here. on formality im not much of a stickler but i do what i want as the head pickler.
now i dont want my friends to turn sour on me and it wouldnt be kosher if i didnt make an appearance. and now that i have scraped the bottom of the pickle barrel for something to say i will dilly dally about no more

congratulations on the promotion T F  and the 3000 mile stone may you post another 3grand and all your pickles be sweet( or dill if you prefer)

behold the power of the pickle *taps TF on both shoulders with the pickle scepter*

been awhile since i written anything, and not sure where this came from just kinda happened. This is the first run at it i am going to redo it when i get some time to polish it up a bit

rainy day so i had some time to add the words

Em                                                    C
captain, Beau and Billy joe
laid down their rifles and they headed home
the war was over and the south was a flame
get back to Texas was their only aim
Am                                     Em
whats a rebel man to do
Am                                        G
the war was lost the south was through

captain beau looked at billy joe
kicked out the fire said get ready to go
climbed in the saddle and hit the trail
the echoes of the wounded they could hear them wail

the south had made its final stand
the carpet baggers roamed the land

the war had taken everything they owned
left them with only the skills they'd honed
no war to fight no farms to tend
no cows to raise no fences to mend

whats a rebel man to do
rob a train a bank or two

they made their plans and their minds were made
they'd rob a train at the point of a blade
Yankee gold and sweet revenge
the south will rise the message we send

whats a rebel man to do
the outlaw life they had to choose

past the point of no turning back
hid neath the trestle on the rail road track
the train was coming no time to wait
they spurred their horses on to meet their fate

a rebel yell did fill the air
the south will rise again i swear

the engines soot and smoke blocked the sun
over the yells you could hear the guns
the engineer and conductor lay dead
and captain beau with his shirt turning red

whats a rebel man to do
blood and death aint nothing new

Billy joe rode for the Indian nations
a place to hide or maybe salvation
the outlaw life always on the run
your only friend is a loaded gun

whats a rebel man to do
aint no way to start a new

whats a rebel man to do
rob a train or bank or two

The guitar was good, but the vocals were a bit low smile

that's odd I thought the vocals were the best part of that post

dang Peatle that's some good detective work, thanks for posting  what I was to lazy to do . I have thought about writing a song about it just never really came up with anything that I thought was any good. maybe I will give it another go.
none of the cattle drives passed through east Texas but who knows maybe ole Perfecto and some of my ancestor may have crossed paths back in the day before he headed north.
a few more historical connections Williams brother was general George Brittain the father of Harlan county ( as in the song you will never leave Harlan alive, I don't remember the name of the song) and their father Nathaniel died in the revolutionary war in 1777.
interesting stuff if you like history

it is a great story I enjoyed reading it. me being the lazy person that I am, I am not going to type out the story I would tell but ask you to google the "poisoned wedding" a story from Texas history in the 1830's my great ,great grand father was the preacher in  this event. something the internet doesn't tell you about him he started the first Baptist  church in Texas.

here is a short one I wrote the last couple of nights, not real pleased with the end of it so a few more drinks tomorrow night and it may get changed. Let me know what you think

D                            G
aint nothing but sad songs tonight
if my life i could rewrite
a few things i would change
a few things i would rearrange
A                         G
a few things i,d make right

but there aint no going back
aint no changing white to black
whats done is done  and here we are
like a door thats been left ajar
its dusty light will shine so far

another chapter i couldnt close
another life i could have chose
whats truth or lie i can not tell
some things in life we should not dwell
theres on so much water in the well

we make our choices and then move on
we will see what happens with the dawn
you only get one chance to make
you only get one road to take
dont be afraid to make lifes big mistake
