Yeah, I play songs. That's my problem. I'm very goal oriented, so once I get a song down I feel like I've won. When, really, I've just sidetracked from learning to play the guitar. Frustrating.

Doing this will improve your angle of approach to the fretboard allowing for easier reaches and cleaner chording... Just a thought smile

Okay, is it going to be a problem in the future for me if I don't keep my thumb at the middle of the neck for all my chords? Like when I play c it's really hard to keep my thumb in the right spot and put enough pressure on the strings. My thumb automatically wants to be on the center of the neck when I play barre chords, I'm just having a rough time with the open ones.

Glad you joined the group, Paxton! I just became a member this week, too, and you're gonna absolutely love it here!! That's great that you found a talent in guitar making! I, too, wish that I'd learned to play guitar years ago. Do you have a website where we could see some of you guitars?

Good to see you, too, Amy! Haha, we are outnumbered!
I wish I'd found this site six months ago. I'm teaching myself to play, so I have questions all the time. I've already asked a few questions and got great answers. I just hope eventually I can help someone else out.

Thanks!

I love how finger picking sounds and have found several patterns that I like, but am always excited to learn more. Does anybody have any that they like and would share?

Alrighty, I checked out those other tabs. They weren't exactly the same as what I was looking for - but very close. So I kinda merged those tabs and my own interpretation of the song into what I think sounds good. Thanks so much for all the help!

I just searched around and couldn't find them. I'm sorry. Wish I could help.

Thanks. Yeah, Deadstring, I guess we are neighbors! Haha! My mom used to live in Louisiana.

Thanks for the response! Doug, I tried all of those chords - I think. But maybe I missed one... I'll check again. That's a good point, Russell, about Greensleeves being the same as WCIT.

Ah! So weird. I was just wondering this today trying to play Christmas Must be Something More. Thanks for the great answers.

My uncle was showing me how to play 'What Child is This?' the other day and I thought I had it, but then realized I forgot to ask about the chorus. The way he showed me was pick one string and strum a chord, pick, strum, pick... Anyway, it sounds really good, but I can't figure out the chorus. Anybody have any ideas??

Haha! Thanks y'all! Yup, I know I'm gonna love it here - I already do. Thanks for the advice, Roger. I'll be sure to read my sticky notes. smile By the way, I live in Arkansas, USA. I should have said that in my intro and I need to write it in my profile too... I'll go fix that. Thanks again for the warm welcome!

Hey guys! I just wanted to give a quick intro (but I'm not really sure if this is the right thread...). Anyway, I'm Katie. I love playing guitar - but I've only played for like six months - so I'm not too great yet. Your site looks amazing. I've already wandered around a little and found some tabs/chords I was lookin' for, so thanks. Can't wait to get to know y'all!
