Honest feedback = catchy little tune, but I had just a little trouble with a section of it understanding just what you were saying.  I would like to see the lyrics so I could enjoy it even more.  Nice playing by the way!

Way to go Zurf!  Another song to sing while floating down the river fishing.  Looking forward to hearing it recorded.  Nice job!

Hey Topdown; Here is one Chordian who is proud to say that I am proud of you.  Keep it up!  The fresh air which can start getting into your lungs will make for some awesome singing.  I never have been a smoker myself, but I understand it must be hard to give up.  Way to go!

I liked it!  Not for the pain that obviously caused it, but I love a story told through words and you hit the nail on the head.  Good Job!

Hey, Hey, Hey, how about that!  Nice job by all involved.  Wow, what a wonderful thing to do the music, but another to get together with others and do it.  I liked it!  Way to go!

Hey Ken; send it or bring it my way if you would.  I would be proud to look it over and add something to the mix.  This is a great, ongoing idea!

Sorry I am late but just wanted to add my birthday wishes to Old Doll!  Haven't heard from her in a while; here is to hoping all is well with you and that you had a wonderful birthday.  Your insight and additions are missed by many of us when we don't hear from you on here for awhile.  Have a great one!

Wow, what a great time!  The bars on Broadway were just that; bars with good music, but overpriced beer.  The usual tourist things were done, sightseeing etc.  The General Jackson paddleboat was a very nice show and dinner cruise.  Probably my favorite was the time spent out on music row; didn't realize just how many publishers, recording studio's and music companies were located there.  Not just country music either.

I am still in awe of the tour through RCA Studio B where sooooo much quality hit music has been recorded through the years.  We were the last group of the day to go through there and there was nobody recording, so we actually got to go in the studio and control room.  How eerie to sit at the same piano where Elvis played and others from Jim Reeves to Charlie Pride to Garth Brooks recorded some of their hits.  Just standing where many famous artists stood to record their music was very inspiring.  I have some pictures; have to see how they turned out, but it was a great moment and I was moved by the experience.  Glad to be back home; but thought I would share my good time with all.

My misses and I are heading out this morning for several days of honky tonkin in Nashville to enjoy the music of the town; a dinner cruise and show on the General Jackson paddleboat and some tours of the sights and sounds.  Hope you all have a great weekend; will be back sometime next week.  NO, I am not taking my guitar, only going to enjoy the music, not trying to make any.

Thanks to all for your feedback!  I will give it a try next Thursday and see how it goes.  I was afraid that the one line with the play on words might offend some with the mere suggestion and the symbolism of rhyming with the word truck.   It is supposed to be fun and most will take it as that.  Good Luck on the fishing trip Ken!  I know those fellows will enjoy the picking around the fire at night.

Our local open mic is celebrating it's sixth anniversary and has challenged each of us to write a song with the word "six" in it.  Here is my submission; a totally made-up whimsical little tune with many references to "six" in it.  I hope you enjoy!

Hey Amy, I played at the Ashville open mic last Thursday and hoped to see Jim there but he didn't make.  In two weeks the open mic will celebrate its 6th anniversary and we've been challenged to write a song with the number 6 in it.  I've written one and thinking about penning another.  I'm curious if Big Jim is gonna give it a try.  I'm lookin forward to hearing everyone's efforts.Ken

Hey Dirty Ed; Ken  Yes, I have written my own song for our 6th birthday party and do intend to actually perform it that night.  Kind of a whimiscal little tune that I think is cute.  I also thought about another, but nothing done with it to date.  See you then; glad you are on here; good people, good supportive group.

Thanks for the comments; just an expression of sorrow for the passing of someone made me want to do this.  Just seemed like the thing to do to honor someone who had passed.

Hey Amy; now that is exactly what I am talking about when I mention what I am doing with the guitar and why.  Nice story which rings true to my mission.  How fun to be able to share that special time with your Dad.  Mine has been gone almost 28 years and I would give an alwful lot to be able to do what you just did.  And, as your dad said to you, don't for one minute think that this event isn't something he is cherishing as a special moment in his life.  Daughters always occupy a soft spot in Daddy's heart and this probably made it more so.  Keep it up and ENJOY!

News that an old friend had passed away brought this song to mind and sometimes the emotion of the words are what is needed to comfort; and I thought these lyrics are comforting when knowing someone is no longer with us.  It is what it is; just my version of a little tune for comfort.

Hey Wayne:  Way to show off the new addition with a great cover of an old classic.  I like it!  Guitar sounds good too!  I am envious of all your stuff!

I manage to get on here everyday to at least read what you fine folks have to offer in the way of musical expertise and entertainment, but I don't usually post unless I have something to offer and most days I don't feel I have; choosing to just enjoy the reading.  In my case, being retired, I have to sneek in my time on here around my guitar playing, golfing, fishing, motorcycle riding, yardwork, chasing grandkids and watching high school sports.  I know, I know, life is tough, but I just can't understand how I used to get everything done before I retired to such a hectic paced life.  Still, I am not sure I could go for very long without some input from you folks; as I have become a little addicted to Pete's look back at the Oldies, Old Dolls pearls of wisdom, Amy's songs and stories and the solid advice offered up by Roger, Toots, Doug, Pix, Russell and the insights of Zurf, Cam and others.  Can't leave out the writings and/or songs of Wayne, Jason, Phil and DaddyCool.   It is starting to feel a little bit like family at times; maybe a disfunctional one, but still a family.  And families must check up on each other every now and then, so let's all get busy.

If you ever see me running it is because somebody is shooting at me!  I am lucky to get out of the golf cart or my fishing boat, let alone run.  Good Luck, hope you fare well for all of us whose only runs these days are on my guitar; and I am not very good at that, but I keep trying.  Lots of Luck

Way to go Zurf and Dirty Ed!  I have the pleasure of hearing Dirty Ed's music at our local open mic's.  He does a great job with the music he writes and performs.  I even had him play my new guitar one night just so I could tell what it sounded like played by somebody who knew what they were doing.  I really do need to go on one of these "rodeo's" as you guys call them.  At least the camp part of it.  It sounds like sooooo much fun.   Hmmmm, practicing while intoxicated; I may have to give that a try.  I bet you I would sound pretty good to myself after a portion of Crown Royal. LOL   Welcome to Chordie Dirty Ed!  See you at Open Mic, soon, I hope.

Ok Amy!  This is much more bouncy than I thought it would be.  I really thought this would be more of a very slow ballad, so I was very suprised.  Good lighthearted melody puts a very casual and carefree tone on the underlying message of moving forward with our lives from meeting to kids and all that life brings.  I really like hearing new things that others do.  Nice job playing, singing and the lyrics.  Keep it up.

Okay Wayne, you scared me into believing you.  Now, how about.......wait a minute........ I mean, would you please give this a record and share it with us.  I so much more enjoy when I am able to hear it performed.  If you please, Mr Roughguy?   I don't want you to get mad at me and "whoop my ass"  LOL

Thanks for the feedback everybody.  Amy, thanks, because that is really all I am striving for; the ability to sit around with friends and do songs that others will appreciate; maybe even sing along to.  I am more of a "cold beer" or a little "Crown Royal" over ice type of guy, but the sentiment is still the same.  Thanks all!

Was feely a little blue today and this is what seemed to make me feel a little better, so I recorded it.  Hope you enjoy!  Let me know what you think.  I am pretty thick skinned.

Ok Amy; Now get out that H2 and record it so we can get a better feel for the rythem.  Like Bud_wiser, I need to hear it to get in the right flow.  We all know you can sing and play because we have heard you do so well before, so find some time and satisfy us with your recorded version.  I anxously await!  Good start, now to the finish line!
