Nice Write Bob smile

The times they are a changin for sure.
I'm also a traditionalist and favor the country/western from times gone by. Somehow its heart is gone along with the great legends.

Well Done and Merry Christmas smile

It feels good to be back and feel a little better about myself. I really want to get into recording so I might just be chewing on your ear for advise and a nice acoustic fill.

I wonder what's going through the mind of the fellow that's climbing below him.

Thanks for the link smile

Hah lol That's priceless Pix. I'm glad he framed it so he can laugh about it for years to come.

Merry Christmas Jim to you and your family, and Thank You for the talented rendition of White Christmas.
We just got dumped on with 3' of the white stuff so we'll be having a White Christmas for sure.

Hi Roger,
Thanks for understanding smile Those little demons make me wonder most days.

Glad to hear you picked a melody from the lyrics. I am struggling with myself (still) to record but hope to have something done up in the near future.

Cheers and Thanks Again for the read. smile

Kenny

P.S. It was good to see you got your guitar back together. How's it holding up?

Hi Artless, Pleased to meet you smile

Thank You for your kind words, it's always good to hear when someone can emotionally connect. I'm not sure of the melody you play it with but I play it in the style of John Prine. I have my issues with recording my tunes and I am trying "get er done" so hopefully you will be able to hear the melody to this sooner then later.

Thanks Again

Hi Ark,
It feels good to post again...it's been awhile. I went out yesterday and bought some midi cords hoping it will force me into recording.
Thanks for the read  smile
Ken

Hey Geo,
I really appreciate your comments. Thank You so much. This is fictional but I did draw some inspiration from when I shared my Mom's last night on Earth alone with her. It was special.
Thanks Again smile
Ken

Thanks Daddy,
It's time to give it a shot without the meds...Here's hoping lol.
Thanks for the read, I'm glad you could feel the emotion.
Cheers my friend smile

Ken

Great question smile My Mom just married a good man that played guitar and at the same time Alice Coopers "Love it to Death" was released. I heard the acoustic for The Ballad of Dwight Fry, which he taught me on his Gibson Hummingbird and was hooked.
Man that was awhile ago...Thanks for the memory smile

Kenny

Hang in there Selso..you know it will get better with some time. Some great advise up above. smile All I can add is don't do what I did and shut yourself out from your friends and family cause it'll hurt even more down the road.
Take care Selso smile

Kenny

Sounds like a blast, hopefully things will improve for me by then as Virginia is a piece of country I've always wanted to visit. With the bonus of jamming with Chordie friends it'll be worth the trip.
Keep us posted smile

Hi all smile

It's been awhile since I've posted or contributed anything to Chordie. I've been visiting and reading daily as I also need my Chordie fix but have had a somewhat bad mental health year that's held me back. Anyways, I'm feeling a little better about myself and I thought I would post up a tune. I also wanted to say Thank You to those that Emailed a Happy B-Day. No excuse for not returning a Thank You other than I hope you understand.
Cheers
Ken

This is a sad song about a fellow spending what could be his last night with his dying wife and being torn between his love for her and his love for her love of life. A light finger picking song with lots of step downs, sorry I can't put them down with Chordpro.
I hope you enjoy.

Howdy Strans smile

You have some real good imagery in this write. I got a Fathers love for his daughter and how bad he felt for her when when her relationship ended.

I watched the blush grow
Across your teenage cheeks
When he gave you that corn stalk braid
That second week.

Nice smile

I am curious about what a corn stalk braid is? Would that be what we call corn bread?

Hope you get it uploaded this weekend. smile

Hey Jodie smile
Glad to see you have decided to put a story to this. It makes it a lot more interesting read to know why your character feels the way he does. smile

Well Done my friend, now we just have to hear it.
Looking forwards to the recording

Looks like the Hillbilly Hoots folks are a blast. Great to see your sons are getting into it. smile Don't ya just hate it when they get better at something then you.

One of these years I'd love to go on a walkabout to see your country, my nephew visited there and had nothing but good things to say..although he was confused cause the water didn't go counterclockwise down the toilet. lol

Cheers and thanks for the pics.
