THAT GUITAR WAS MADE FOR THE MODERN SHREADMASTER AND THE GUYS IN DROP C, THEY LIKE THE HIGHER FRETS, TOO BAD IT DIDNT WORK OUT FOR YOU. oops forgot caps was on, LTD and ESP are great guitars
Yep it most likely was, but I am not a shreadmaster nor do I aspire to be one , in fact I am not even modern but I do write a lot of songs so that qualifies me as original

Well done for being tough enough to return it.
that's a relief Russ, as you told Zurf, i've bought mic's strings and stuff, even a drum kit (electronic) but not a guitar.
They are good people at Sweetwater I never had a problem with them.

I have purchased several guitars, mics, amps, etc etc and they always treat me good
That's a good reason to buy from Sweetwater.
Garuchi won an American Strat in a contest. He immediately sold it and bought a Les Paul. One man's dream is another man's nightmare.

Re: NGD (32 replies, posted in Electric)
Sadly I opted to return this instrument I had issues with the tuning mechanism and I did not like the feel of the neck for fretting because the frets are too high and space between is to narrow even less then my strat thanks for all the chordie support and a word of caution before investing in any higher priced instrument PLAY IT FIRST!

A friend of mine has the exact one. It is a great guitar. Congratulations on your NGD.
Thanks Joey I am in the process of setting up the tuning(it takes a while to understand)

It is quite striking and lighter than the LP the 24 frets add a new wrinkle to discover thanks

That's a real beauty. Love the colour and Finnish. I know you'll make it sing.
Thanks Phill I am still waiting at home for the Fedex dude or dudess to enter my atmosphere, I have all my equipment ready to claw this baby and make her scream. I just finished a 2hr practice session with my LP and it still sounds really sweet this was a tough call but your only on this Earth for a short time

Another company that does a very impressive job with their finishes is Diamond Guitars (a.k.a. DBZ). They make great use of transparent finishes on Birdseye, Flamed, and Quilted Maple tops, and have some interesting variations on the body contours of both single and double cut classic styles.
Excellent!! especially this one "bird of Prey" http://www.diamondguitars.com/bird-of-p … galaxy-red

I located a very informative video with a demo of the system if you just want to watch the guitar playing go to 1:48 on the video but if you have time to listen to the introduction it is informative this is one very talented picker https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAtnUz82HdY&t=23s

Re: NGD (32 replies, posted in Electric)
Great finish on that axe. I have never heard of Evertune. Mind making a demo video to share with the group?
Yes, I was impressed with the finish also it reminded me of a tiger. Evertune is a highly regarded system by top musicians who have made demo videos that put me to shame but I am always willing to showcase my ideas and songs for my Chordie family I will make a short video to demo my new git. glad ya like it!

Re: NGD (32 replies, posted in Electric)
I will test this bridge to the max and if it cannot do as advertised I will return this instrument but if it is genuine my Gibson Les Paul will be jealous as it will sit next to it and I love the color and the growl, especially the growl

Happy to share this and I am equally impressed with his fingerpicking it is (for me) awkward and the one style I have yet to master and keep working on I also liked the second song the progression is unusual but he makes it work.

I was watching another video at the time on YouTube and this caught my eye it was on the side and I decided to check it out, after watching It I knew I had to share it with my friends on Facebook and Chordie. John Moreland has a unique voice and writes his own songs I truly hope he slims down for health reasons and is around for some time to pass on his music.

Joe, the second link to the Washington Post has a $1.00 subscription charge to keep reading the article but the other links were very informative I didn't know about Gibsons problems and there CEO and Fender sales. It is true Rock is not as popular with younger audiences and the popularity of guitars seems to be on the decline times do change and electronic dance music and rap seem to be gaining the upper hand in the music business but I think there will always be an audience that enjoys Rock enough to support the industry as long as there are old geezers like me to keep thumping away thanks for the info

Re: Gibson Facing Bankruptcy (19 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Their auto tuners were a disaster and they no longer have them on new models.
I have to disagree My LP has auto tuners and I have had no issues with it, as long as the battery is charged and the guitar is strung properly it works fine. Also you have to pay attention to the details when changing strings if they are another brand or gauge you have to do a reset on the tuners and they will work just fine.

You really nailed the soulful sound of that one, Russell ... thanks for posting. I couldn't help but notice that the ol' arthritis is starting to hit your hands, too ... no more 32nd note shredding for us older guys, eh?
TF thank you for giving a look and commenting, regarding that "OL Arthritis" it is not really affecting me I still can hit 64th notes if needed 32nd notes are normal eat your heart out
