I say give when you have the extra to give and the great provider will see that it is returned ten fold. Now expecting to get something for free. If you can't afford it and it is offered take it for what it is worth but if you can afford it pay for what you want or need because if you don't it is concidered stealing. Thats just my thoughts on the whole matter and the basic way of an honest person.

I bought a solid top Takamine back at the start of the year after playing a laminate for a few years. The tone of the solid is really good for the first hour of playing then it gets a dull "airy" tone. Is this normal for solid wood tops or could it be the pick up? It sounds like it's out of tune but when everything is checked it is in tune. Could it be that the wood is expanding to the warmth of playing and getting that "Airy" tone making it sound this way? Maybe i just got a bad one???

Try a sound hole cover. They work wonders for eliminating feedback.
Look up Lute hole covers they are really nice and they add a touch of class to the looks of your guitar.

I've been playing my begginer guitar for over 10 years now and i choose to play it over some of my other guitars that i paid alot more for. Some begginer guitars are just too hard to lay down after you get use to playing it for a while. A word of advise is to be sure your next guitar plays as good as your begginer  or better and not bought just because it looks better and costs more. Another thing is you can always upgrade to a better guitar and still be learning and possibly make it easier on yourself.

One of the best duets i've seen is Bryan Adams and Jason Aldean as seen on CMT Crossroads. If i ever find an album of it it will be mine. I think the generation gap and genre mix of those two was meant to be.  It is just awesome.

Emotions through music is called for every time because if it isn't there it's not from the heart. Just don't let the emotion take over your voice and everything will be fine.

First off welcome to Chordie. I'm from Georgia also and i don't see any problem with your idea as long as no instruments are left out there. The amps and mixer and so forth should be fine as long as they stay dry from any moisture. I would want a more comfortable climate to practice myself because it gets alot hotter here in my parts than it gets cold.

I've always been drawn to the 60's and 70's then i really came into loving music in the 90's since that was the decade of my teens. None of todays music is suitable except for those that copy the sounds of yesteryear then it's few and far between. That is just for rock music now the other genres of music is all different. I like most of all other music past and present.

The few times i've played on stage was with guitar and amp with a little reverb and chorus which was on the amp. Sweet and simple. Now at home i like to experiment with overdriven distortion tones and wah wah pedals. I haven't mastered those yet so i keep those at home.

I can't read either one but would like to learn. I have an idea of how tab works but it looks like it would slow me down . The standard was explained to me once but it really looks to hard to follow for guitar. That being said i will just stick with the simple fake format with the chords since that's mostly what i play anyhow. Anthing else i play is by ear or sight memorization.

Wow the keyboard and fretboard really explained to me how it works. I already knew the fretboard was laid out like the piano keyboard but this just confirmed it for me and helps me find the notes i need to play better up the neck. Thanks and keep up the good work.

I guess i was influenced by two of my uncles. I rememder as a kid watching them play and thinking i wanted to do that because it looked so fun. I also just love the sounds a guitar produces no matter what playing style. In addition to that i've always thought that the guitar is a piece of art that should be played with.

Zurf if needed take a picture of your kids and sit it in front of you and play it as you would for them. I'm sure it will be a great prize for them to cherish for many years. Good Luck.

I say go for it. I've had a gotee for the last 4 years and i can't imagine myself without it anymore. I never could handle the full beard. It's just too much trouble plus my wife and baby girl didn't like it to much either.

I've been told i am part Scotish but haven't looked into it. I may be the one that invents the guitarbaitcaster as in partscaster or telecaster or stratocaster. lol lol

Someone needs to invent the fishing guitar. It would be kind of like a guitar that you could play but the sound and vibrations would attract fish. The only thing is how would you attach a reel to it?
I'd buy one just so i could combine both my favorite hobbies.

The heavier the string gauge the louder on acoustics. Try a set of 13's and see if that helps you.

Canudigit welcome to the forums. I think you might have something to offer to those on here that ask for help. These other guys that have already studied theory just won't appreciate it as much as those of us who hasn't. Just wait until a question is asked and then fire away. You can be a help on chordie but a proper introduction would have been appreciated. Who takes advise or lessons from someone they haven't heard or know anything about? Again welcome to Chordie the best site there is for music and the forums there in.
