Wind and Walls The Tallest Man on Earth
---------- The Tallest Man on Earth ---------- --------------- Wind and Walls --------------- ---------- tabbed by ClassicManiac -----------
Alright, this is BY NO MEANS supposed to be an actual representation
of what TTMOE does in the album version. I've tried to transcribe this
song to Standard Tuning, yet the artist uses an alternate tuning for
the real thing. Consequently, my version will differ from the original
recording here and there, but I've done my best for those who don't
wanna waste a lot of time tuning their guitars. So please take it for
what it is: An interpretation. No more, no less. It is still accurate
enough to play along the original version.
The strumming pattern is pretty important in this song in order to make
it sound right. Listen to the song a few times and try playing along,
I'm sure you'll get it quickly.
Even more, the D chord variations he does really make this song. TTMOE
plays around with D major, Dsus4 and Dsus2 almost anytime you see a
D chord in here, starting in the intro already. Once again, listen to
the recording to get it right. Now hit it and have fun! :)

Capo 4 (to be in key with original recording)
(Intro:) D - A - Em - D - A
Well, '[D]All is well in order' is what you t[A]hought you heard them say
and [Em]so you drifted off to see what's [D]not in your[A]self
[D]Light is turning slowly will it [A]lay out on the plains?
[Em]No more nights of what you wrote back [D]then,
no re[A]lief of [G]no rain[D] [A]
And so, [D]singing songs of rivers tied to [A]accidents within
and [Em]telling people lies of lions, [D]treasures, and [A]kings
[D]Nothing's more revealing than the [A]dancer and the doubt
[Em]waving to forget what's never [D]gone, always [A]there, never [G]right
( Tab from: http://www.guitartabs.cc/tabs/t/the_tallest_man_on_earth/wind_and_walls_crd.html )
[A] In all these riots of [D]broken sounds[A]
Like the last voice you [Em]heard
then you [A]drowned, oh [D]lord[A] [Em] [D] [A]
You know, [D]this is wind and walls and weathered [A]leaves and tearing sails
and [Em]minnows in your pockets when the [D]rapid's on [A]trails
[D]this is not the future but I [A]sense it's right up there
oh, [Em]just another hour, another [D]pass, another [A]day any[G]where
[A] In all these riots of b[D]roken sounds[A]
And you sleep on the [Em]track
every [A]night, oh [D]lord[A] [Em] [D] [A]
[G]And we don't know if your treasure is safe
where will you [A]be when they [D]find you, son?[Bm]
And you [G]know they're always following me
so when I [A]get there you [D]trust me son, and just [Bm]leave,
I'll catch [A]up[A6] [A7]
[D]This is where you're passionate of [A]seasons and their strength
and [Em]this is where you breathe and walk and [D]know they will [A]end
[D]Light is turning slowly to the [A]hand upon your chest
so [Em]lay it on the plains where there is [D]time, there is [A]love, there is [G]rest
[A] From all these riots of [D]broken sounds[A]
[Em]When you sleep on the track
every [A]night, oh [D]lord[A] [Em] [D] [A]
(Break:) G - A - A6 - G - A - A6
And we [G]don't know if your treasure is safe
where will you [A]be when they [D]find you, son?[Bm]
And you [G]know they're always following [A]me
I'll be the best when the [D]silence comes.
