Headlights The Classic Crime
I actually transposed this so if you are looking to play it exactly like TCC then you
to put your capo on the 8th fret which is rediculous. I usually play it on capo 4 and it
fine and its a lot easier to sing.
Capo 4
Intro
[Em] [C] [G] [D]
[Em]A summer drive away from d[C]ying:
a broken heart nothing to lose.
I know it hurts so bad just trying
to please the ones you hate to love.
[Am7]And I wrote this note about [C]someone I used to [Em]know[D]
so I'd rem[Am7]ember how l[C]ife can be so short
[C]when your left alone to wonder how it is
[C]someone opens and shuts the [G]door.
I know your [D]cold but come [C]home.
It's a sh[G]ame how [D]short we all have [C]come.
[Em] [C] [G] [D]
[Em]You set your mind on cruise [C]control;
knuckles grip the wheel in fear to let it go.
[Am7]Love is empty ,love is [C]cruel, love it blindly breaks the [Em]rules.
How could you have been a [D]fool?
It's something all of us go [Am7]through.
You choke back tears and swallow [C]lies
but those wiper blades won't fix you [Em]eyes,
count on having clouded [D]vision for at least a little [G]while.
And I know you're [D]cold but come [C]home:
it's a sh[G]ame how [D]short we all have [C]come.[G]
And I know you're [D]cold but come [C]home.
Please don't f[Em]ace the headlights of the [D]oncoming cars [C]alone.
We w[Em]ont for[C]get the [G]pa---[D]st.
We w[Em]ont for[C]get the [G]pa---[D]st. (And I know you're [G]cold)
Say all the [D]answers and I will let you [Em]go
I wont look [C]back
and I wont look [G]back.
Say all the a[D]nswers
and I will let you [Em]go.
I will let you [C]go.
I will let you [G]go
[D] [Em] [C]
Please don't [Em]face the headlights of the [D]oncoming cars [C]alone
and I will let you [G]go..
