Harmonic Generator The Datsuns
Right, this is The Datsuns new song, and it was pretty easy to figure out. I'm
99% sure that this is right... In Guitarist it said Christian (Lead Guitar)
doesn't use any effects except some wah in the solos, and for me this sounds
better with just the overdrive channel rather than a distortion pedal, but suit
yourself.
Standard tuning.
Main Riff: (Rhythm's pretty easy to figure out, I've written it badly though...)
[A#5]
E|-------------| B|-------------| G|-------------|
D|-8-88-88-8-88| x2 for intro
A|-8-68-88-8-88| followed by
E|-6-66-66-6-66| x4 for verse
Chorus: (Same rhythm pretty much)
E|--------------------------| B|--------------------------| G|-----------66-------------| D|-5-55-6-66-66-8-68-88-8-88| A|-5-55-6-66-44-8-88-88-8-88| x2 E|-3-33-4-44----6-66-66-6-66|
A Har..guitar modulator
Bit with bass coming in. I'm not sure if this actually is a G5th, any other thoughts?
[F5] [G5]
E|------------| B|------------| G|------------| D|-3----5-----|
A|-3hold5hold-| repeat as needed
E|-1----3-----|
Ok, as far as the solo parts are concerned, I'm not really sure what they are. If
you use F, G, G#, A# and C# or whatever pentatonic (I should know which, but I
normally don't use them) incorperates most of those, then you should get i
fairly quickly. This is what I think the lick Christian plays a lot towards the
end is:
E|---6---------| B|-6---8-6-8-6-| G|-------------| D|-------------| A|-------------|
Hope it's alright, and I hope someone tabs the solo soon, I quite like it.
Comments appreciated.
