On the Run  Tina Dickow

Tina Dico - On the run (acoustic)

 ---------------------------------

Here's an acoustic version of Tina Dicos "On the run", the way she plays it
alone on her guitar. It is a little more sophisticated and if you are a true
beginner you may just skip to the end where you find a simple chord version to
play along.

Chorus

The Chorus is simply strummed over these chords:
[F] [Am] [Em] [Dm] [F] [Am] [G] [G] [Am] [C] [Am] [C]
Strum with standard rhythm (^^vv^v also known as DDUUDU) and (of cause)
DDUUDUUDUUDU for the two bars of G.
When it comes to the Am/C part an Asus4 comes into play:

single strums and some picking on the base notes.

Bridge

 ------

The bridge has some picking on the 3rd to 5th string. She plays it with her
index finger constantly residing on the first fret of the D-string and her
middle finger jumping from the third fret on the A-string to the second fret of
the G-string. I personally prefer using my ring finger for the A-string and my
middle finger for th G-string. Note that the first bass note of each bar is only
1/8th long and therefore has to be muted with with you thumb. Listen to it, to
get a proper feeling of the rhythm.
Generally spoken, the bridge consists of 2 bars with an A as bass note followed
by two bars with a C as bass note and this is repeated three times.

Complete Song

 -------------

Finally, here's the complete song to play along. I ommitted all the special
chords and reduced it to the basics. If you learned them from above, you know
where to play what and when and if you don't, you can just strum the chords,
which will sound good, too. BTW: I think she sings "lead me astray" not "lead my
astray" as stated on her web site.
Intro (Am) Em
