Poor Old Horse Kate Rusby
A great christmas folk number from Kate Rusby's "Sweet Bells" album. This is
brilliant for busking, and is a nice easy one for the accordion. This is a
slightly simplified version, tabbed myself, but I don't promise any form of
accuracy! Oh-Pa Oh-Pa rhythm.
Enjoy!
--- Verse 1 ---
We've [C]got a poor old [F]horse,
He's [C]standing at your [G]door,
And [F]if you'll only [C]let him [G]in,
He'll [F]greet you all I'm [G]sure,
He'll [F]greet you [G]all I'm [C]sure.
He'll [F]greet you all I'm [G]sure,
He'll [F]greet you [G]all I'm [C]sure.
--- Verse 2 ---
[C]Now that He's grown [F]old
And [C]nature doth [G]decay,
My [F]master frowns [C]upon him [G]now,
These [F]words I've heard him [G]say,
These [F]words I've [G]heard him [C]say.
These [F]words I've heard him [G]say,
These [F]words I've [G]heard him [C]say.
--- Verse 3 ---
[C]Now that He's grown [F]old
And [C]scarcely can he [G]crawl,
He's [F]forced to eat the [C]coarsest [G]grass,
That [F]grows against the [G]wall,
That g[F]rows [G]against the [C]wall.
That [F]grows against the [G]wall,
It [F]grows [G]against the [C]wall.
--- Verse 4 ---
This [C]poor horse was once [F]young,
And [C]in his youthful [G]prime,
My [F]master used to [C]ride on [G]him,
He [F]thought him very [G]fine,
He [F]thought him [G]very [C]fine.
He [F]thought him very [G]fine,
He [F]thought him [G]very [C]fine.
