Winter on the Weekend Julia Stone
Hey! This is my first chord set, it is very straightforward. It sounds correct
when you play it with the recording. I played it on the piano but it?s just as
easy to play on the guitar
The intro starts on an Eb, then to a C. It?s not hard to work out from that.
[Cm] [Ab] [Fm] [G]
[Cm]He's a dog
[Ab]But he's dressed up like a sheep
[Fm]Got bones all through the backyard
[G]But he likes to drink tea
[Cm]We play scrabble on the weekend
[Ab]And he talks about the weather most of the time
[Fm]I thought my sacred body
[G]With him it would be fine
[Cm]And I walked into the doorway
[Ab]He slid across the room
[Fm]My heart, it started racing
[G]I just didn't know what to do
[Cm]And he laid me on the floor
[Ab]And my screams they go unheard
[Fm]The lady living next door
[G]Well she's six feet under the dirt
[Cm]Daddy, why don't you protect me
[Ab]Someone's gonna hurt me
[Fm]There's nothing [G]I can do
[Cm]Daddy, why don't you protect me
[Ab]Someone's gonna hurt me
[Fm]There's nothing [G]I can do
[Cm]He's a dog
[Ab]But he's dressed up like a sheep
[Fm]He's got bones all through the backyard
[G]But he likes to fool me
[Cm]And I travel through the doorway
[Ab]I thought I'd be fine
[Fm]But it's not the way it's gonna [G]go this time
[Cm]Daddy, why don't you protect me
[Ab]Someone's gonna hurt me
[Fm]There's nothing [G]I can do
[Cm]Daddy, why don't you protect me
[Ab]Someone's gonna hurt me
[Fm]There's nothing [G]I can do
[Ab]And all this tim[Bb]e I needed you
[Ab]And all this tim[Fm]e I wanted you
[Bb]You can't hear m[Ab]e now
[Fm]Can't hear me now
[G]Like you do
(Up the octave)
[Cm]Daddy, why don't you protect me
[Ab]Someone's gonna hurt me
[Fm]There's nothing [G]I can do
[Cm]Daddy, why don't you protect me
[Ab]Someone's gonna hurt me
[Fm]There's nothing [G]I can do
