1. [C]This old gu[G]itar taught me to si[Am]ng a [Em]love song
[F]It showed me how to [G]laugh and how to c[C]ry. [G/B] [Am] [Am/G]
It introdu[F]ced me to some [G]friends of mine, and [C]brightened [G/B]up some [Am]days,
And [F]helped me make it t[G]hrough some lonely n[C]ights. [G/B] [Am]Oh [Am/G]
What a f[F]riend to have on a [G]cold and lonely [C]night. [G/B] [Am] [Am/G] [F] [G]
2. [C]This old gu[G]itar gave me my [Am]lovely [Em]lady
[F]It opened up her [G]eyes and ears to [C]me. [G/B] [Am] [Am/G]
[F]It brought us close [G]together, I [C]guess it [G/B]broke her [Am]heart,
It [F]opened up the [G]space for us to [C]be. [G/B] [Am] [Am/G]
What a l[F]ovely place and a [G]lovely space to [C]be. [G/B] [Am] [Am/G] [F] [G]
3. [C]This old gu[G]itar gave me my [Am]life, my [Em]living.
[F]All the things you [G]know I love to [C]do. [G/B] [Am] [Am/G]
[F]To serenade the [G]stars that shine from a [C]sunny [G/B]mountain [Am]side
And [F]most of all to [G]sing my songs for [C]you. [G/B] [Am] [Am/G]
[F] I love to [G]sing my songs for [C]you. [G/B]Yes I [Am]do, you know.
[F]I love to [G]sing my songs for [C]you.
