Camellia Hall & Oates
I worked out most of this by watching John Oates play an acoustic version. It may not be
precise to the studio recording, but it's darn close.
Here are the shapes John uses:
[EADGBE]
A: x02220
E: 476454
D: 557775
D6: 557777
Bm: 799777 (sometimes he plays 797779)
Bm7: x24232
C#m7: x46454
F#m: 244222
... Though, for most of those chords, the standard shapes sound fine, too. Also, the D6 can be substituted with a standard D and still sound good. (Personally, I like substituting a Dmaj7, played like this: xx0222.)
Intro:
[A] [E] [D] [Bm] [C#m7] [D]
Opening [A]night,[E] nothing new [D]Atlan[Bm]ta
Into the [A]spotlight, one more [E]time
Just in time to [D]play[Bm]
To [A]one man at an e[E]mpty table
He was [D]drinking [C#m7]down the p[Bm7]ain
All he could [Bm7]say was [C#m7]his lady's n[D6]ame
[A]Oh Cam[E]ellia, won't you [D]take me awa[Bm]y
[A]Oh Cam[E]ellia, won't you [D]take me awa[Bm]y
After the [A]show, [E]when the room was [D]empt[Bm]y
No, he wouldn't go
So I asked him why he called her name
It seems she was some magic one night
With [D]something [C#m7]for his [Bm7]pain
But all she [Bm7]left was her [C#m7]pretty [D6]name...
[A]Oh Cam[E]ellia, won't you [D]take me away
To [Bm]paradise tropical [C#m7]moon
Don't you l[F#m]eave me sitting here in [Bm7]Atlanta[D]
Repeat chorus until the end!
