Dedication Day Eric Bogle
DEDICATION DAY
ERIC BOGLE
NOTE:
CAPO 1ST FRET , all chord positions are relative to capo.
Eg. G= G# D=Eb C=C#
Key of G#
I think? Eric plays it in 4/4 timing, but 3./4 timing works well also. Before you come into the first
try creating a little run on the C chord I tend to do something like pick the B string then the G , D pulloff
a hammer-on , G ,D pulloff. Just anything that will lead you into the first verse.
[G] [D] [C]
[G] [D] [C]
Verse 1

[G]As the men marched past from first to la[D]st, the crowds cheer ev[C]eryone,
a[Am]nd war seems somehow very far away, on this sunny [D]dedicati[Am]on day.[D] [G]
[G]They marched to a memorial, [D]built by and for their[C] own,
[G]a simple wall of remembra[D]nce of brick and steel[C] and stone.[D]
