What Could Have Been Love Aerosmith
What Could of Been Love (From the album "Music From Another Dimension")
--------------------------------------
Doing most of this from memory but it should give you a pretty good start
on the song. Also the F# at the end of the first chorus sounds like it
degrades to an F#m, however you could probably still use an A chord and get
away with it. The G#m in the chorus also feels a bit rough but you can play
around with it and find some variation that fits the bill.

Verse 1:
I [D]wake up and wonder how [G]everything went wrong.[Bm]
Am [A]I the one to [G]blame?
I [D]gave up and left you for a [G]nowhere-bound train.[Bm]
Now that [A]train has come and [G]gone.
I [Em]close my eyes and see you [Bm]lying in my bed.
And [D]I still [A]dreamed of that [G]day.
Chorus:
[E]What could have been [G#m]love,
Should have been the [F#m]only thing that was [B]ever meant to be.[E]
Didn't know, [G#m]couldn't see what was [A]right in front of [B]me.[E]
And now that I'm [G#m]alone all I have is [F#m]emptiness that [B]comes from being free.[C#m]
What could have been [B]love will never [F#]be.
Verse 2:
An [D]old friend who told me that you [G]found somebody new.
[Bm]Oh, you're [A]finally moving [G]on.
You [D]think that I'd be over you [G]after all these years.
[Bm]Yeah, but [A]time has proved me [G#m]wrong.
'Cause I'm still holdin' [G]on.
Chorus:
[E]What could have been [G#m]love,
Should have been the [F#m]only thing that was [B]ever meant to be.[E]
Didn't know, [G#m]couldn't see what was [A]right in front of [B]me. (What could of been [E]love)
And now that I'm [G#m]alone all I have is [F#m]emptiness that [B]comes from being free.[C#m]
What could have been [B]love will never [A]be.
Bridge:
[F#m]We've gone our separate ways.[C#m] Say goodbye to another day.
[F#m]I still wonder where you at. Are you [C#m]too far from turning back?
[D]You were slipping through my hands and I [B]didn't understand.
What could have been [B]love will never be.
What could have been love...[E] [-] [B] [-] [A] [-] [B]
What could have been love...[E] [-] [B] [-] [A] [-] [B]
What could have been love... [E] [-] [B] [-] [A] [-] [B] [E] [-] [B] [-] [A]
