The Precipice The Classic Crime
I play it with capo 3 instead, which have the following chord translations:
D# = C
Cm = Am
G# = F
A# = G
This also allows me to do the picking instead if I want it to sound like the original
instead of just chords. Using open chords on capo 3, I just pick A and D strings back and
forth for the C and the Am and the E and A strings for the F (barred) and G.
Something like this:
D|---5---5---5---5---5--| A|-6---6---6---6---6----| E|----------------------| ...continue until chord change D|---5---5---5---5---5--| A|-3---3---3---3---3----| E|----------------------| ...continue D|----------------------| A|---6---6---6---6---6--| E|-4---4---4---4---4----| ...continue D|----------------------| E|---5---5---5---5---5--| E|-6---6---6---6---6----| ...continue
I did this fast, so please let me know if I typed it up wrong. And sorry for the lack

The Precipice by The Classic Crime
----------------------------------
Verse 1:
[D#]I wish I could play the violin
Id p[Cm]lay til tears rolled down your cheek and chin
And [G#]if you sang along
[A#]We could write the saddest [D#]song
Verse 2:
[D#]Sometimes I indulge my every whim
And [Cm]piece-by-piece I build the cell Im in
But I [G#]only stay here long
en[A#]ough to write the saddest [D#]song
Chorus:
I dreamt I [Cm]stood on a hill that I [D#]wished was a mountain
To [Cm]look back on all my accomplish[D#]ments
Well they [Cm]must have been small because I [D#]couldnt seem to find them
so I [G#]took a leap off [A#]of the precip[D#]ice
Verse 3:
[D#]I wish I could play piano well
Id [Cm]hit the keys that make your spirit swell
And [G#]if you sang along
[A#]We could write the saddest [D#]song
*Repeat Chorus*
Bridge:
[D#]Whatever the cost
Whether it works out or not
[Cm]Whatever the cost
Whether it works out or not
[G#]Ill follow you
Ill follow y[A#]ou with my h[D#]eart
*Repeat Bridge*
*Chorus is repeated here a cappella. I like to do one strum per chord here instead.*
