My First Rock Concert Rheostatics
My first rock conce[G]rt was a stadium affair
our [C]dads drove us d[D]own to the [G]front gates there,
[G]And we looked at all the people and all their rock-n-roll hair,
And for the [C]very first [D]time i smelled [G]dope in the air,
And we saw[E] ELO, [C]but they [G]sucked.

I saw the Birthday[C] Party pla[D]y with Nick Cave. [G]
[G]I saw XTC twice, I thought Paul Weller was Christ.
[C]I even m[D]et Michael Stipe, he was[G] distant but he was nice.

[D]At Massey Hall, I got up and i started t[C]o dance
[D]Big ol' cop, he grabbed me, and pinned m[C]e against the stage.
[D]Cop reached down, and he took the hat of[C]f my head.

[D]So i wiggled free and i ran up into the b[C]alcony and swan[D] dived.
