Kiss Me Goodbye Kashmir
___________________
/ Kashmir / I think this song is about this person, who forgets to
/ Kiss Me Goodbye / hold on to what he has. I could for instance be the guy
/ The Good Life / who becomes famous and forgets about his now past
/__________________/ friends. This guy could be Kasper Eistrup, who knows.

With this tab I've made an additional guitar pro tab, as I think it can help
a lot with learning this rather difficult song. Here's the link to it:

Intro:
The song starts with four 6/4-bars of drum-masturbation (but yes, it's
impossible to count). The guitar noise is produced by amplifier feedback,
which requires a lot of overdrive. The chord that is strummed there is a
standard Em, 022000. The screeching noises are produced by strumming the
strings behind the nut, which means the part of the string off the fretboard
before the machine heads. Follow this link for a deeper guitar-terms
explanation: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guitar#Guitar_construction_and_components
Then a verse without vocal is played with full-blown overdrive. You can see
how a verse is played right below. In this song there are three guitar tracks,
and they all play for this part. For the verse, it's only one guitar playing.
Verse:
This is played with a little overdrive, and all the notes played palm muted.
This figure is played for all the four verses. Know that this is very very
hard to sing and play this at the same time; Kasper Eistrup is very skilled.

Chorus:
The strumming of the chords here is rather random, but I think this is the basic
idea. In the first chorus it's only one guitar playing - until the last two bars,
where two other overdriven guitars join in to add some extra power. The rest of
the choruses are played by all three guitars.

Church Bell Chorus:
The three guitars play a chorus as backing for this. If the church bell part was
to be played on guitar, it could be done like this. Notice that the notes in the
last two bars follow the snare drum.

Re-Intro:
Again it's four bars of drumming and a lot of noise. Two guitars strum the Em,
let it feed and strum the strings behind the nut. The third one strums and feeds
the natural harmonics on the 12th fret on the high e-, B- & G-string. That makes
up a high pitches Em-chord as well.
Tonzer-Riff:
Okay, this might seem totally chaotic at first, but notice that it's the same
rhythm in each bar, it's just the notes that change. That's kind of a relief! :)

These next four bars are completely similar, now it's just power chords
instead of single notes. Remember to throw in some vibrato to cool it up.

Outro:
The guitars repeat this bar until the whole thing is faded out.
Notice the sweet harmonics in bass riff here.

Before the song fades out entirely, it fades into a blurry intro of Vote 4 Dick
Taid. Then Kasper's voice says: "I, I didn't understand your answer."
I think this is a comment on the major genre change that Kashmir made with this
album, The Good Life, which was quite controversial to Kashmir-fans back then.
But after Radiohead released the groundbreaking landmark OK Computer in 1997,
Kashmir felt inspired to follow this new genre. Fair deal, who wouldn't?
OK Computer is probably the best rock album ever made! :)
Lyrics:
I used to belong here
Be safe from the world here
Share wine and believe
You'd share yours forever
Time passes to past tense
I walked past the sealed ends
Pretended I was king
With my back turned on the faithful
These scents here are yours now
Mine's blown out but somehow
I wish they'd return
Just can't find a way how
Never becomes always
If you miss all these warnings
I sure missed them all
Dragged you with me falling
Kiss me goodbye
Kiss me out of your eye
Shooting star
Wet my lips one last time
Kiss me goodbye
Kiss me out of your eye
Shooting star
Wet my lips one last time
Kiss me goodbye
Kiss me out of your eye
Shooting star
Let the clouds pass you by
