Whiskey for Everybody Gary Jules
------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------
The recorded version has two fingerpicked guitars playing at once. I didn't
try to figure that out, but instead tried to make a nice single-guitar
version with the proper chord voicings and a similar playing style.
Standard tuning, capo on 3rd fret
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Intro/Verse - play the verse pattern once as an intro:
[G]"From the air the fields[Em] east of Dublin look[Am7] just like a [Dsus2]watercolor"
[G]"When the streets arise[Em] up to meet the plan[Am7]e nobody [Dsus2]notices"
[G] [Em] [Am7] [Dsus2]

Chorus Part 1 - link the end of the C pattern into the Am7:
"That [Am7]I miss your [Dsus2]face more than [G]anything in the [C]world"
"And [Am7]I miss your [Dsus2]face more than [G]anything in the [C]world"
[Am7] [Dsus2] [G] [C]
|-------3---|---------0-------|-------3---|---------0-------| |---------1-|-------3---3-----|-----3---3-|-------1-----3---| |-----0-----|-----0-------0---|---4-------|-----0-----0---0-| |---2-------|---4-----------4-|-5---------|---2-------------| |-0---------|-5---------------|-----------|-3---------------| |-----------|-----------------|-----------|-----------------|
Here's an alternative to the above C pattern, that I like:
[C]
|-----------------| |-------1---------| |-----0-----------| |---2-------2---0-| |-3-------3---2---| |-----------------|
Chorus Part 2:
[Am7]"Whiskey for [Dsus2]everybody,[Am7] to us and to [Dsus2]all we left be[G]hind"[F] [G]
[Am7] [Dsus2] [Am7] [Dsus2]

Verse:
[G]"A beautiful [Em]morning[Am7] youâ??ve got so[Dsus2]meplace to be"
[G]"So if you [Em]have to go[Am7] be sure and [Dsus2]think of me"
Chorus Part 1:
"Cause [Am7]I miss your [Dsus2]face more than [G]anything in the [C]world"
[Am7]"And I miss your[Dsus2] face more than [G]anything in the [C]world"
Chorus Part 2 - this time around it goes into the bridge section:
[Am7]"Whiskey for[Dsus2] everybody[Am7] whisper the [Dsus2]words before you're"
Bridge:
"[G]Out the [D6]door [Em]again"
[G] [D6] [Em]

"[A7]I be[D]lieve that [G]you were [C]right"

"The seas are [D]full and [G]stars are [C]falling"
"I be[D]lieve that [G]you were [C]right"
"We, we were so [G]young when [F]we left [G]home"
[G] [F] [G]

Verse:
[G]"From the fields the air[Em] over Dublin looks[Am7] just like a [Dsus2]watercolor"
[G]"And even in [Em]empty arms[Am7] I feel the [Dsus2]weight of you"
Chorus:
"Oh [Am7]I miss your [Dsus2]face more than [G]anything in the [C]world"
[Am7]"I miss your[Dsus2] face more than [G]anything"[C]
[Am7]"Whiskey for [Dsus2]everybody,[Am7] to us and to [Dsus2]all we left be[G]hind"[F]
"when [G]we"[F]
"left [G]home"
The last G is not arpeggio, but a single gentle pluck:

That's it. There are many slight fingerpicking variations you can try
to fill it out a bit. Experiment, make it your own, and have fun with
this beautiful song.
