The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down  Undefined

[G]
[Em]Virgil C[G/D]ain is my name and I s[C]erved on the D[Bm]anville tr[Am]ain,
[Em]Till Stonewall's c[G/D]avalry came and t[C]ore up the t[Bm]racks ag[Am]ain.
[G/B]In the winter of s[C]ixty-five we were h[G]ungry, just [Am]barely alive.
[G/B]By May the tenth R[C]ichmond had fell.
It was a t[G]ime I rem[Am]ember all so w[A]ell.

The n[G/D]ight they dr[C]ove old Dixie d[G/D]own,
And the b[C]ells were ringing.
The n[G/D]ight they dr[C]ove old Dixie d[G/D]own,
And the p[C]eople were singing.  They went...
"n[G/D]a na na [Em]na na na, [D]na na na na na [C]na na na na."

[Em]Back with my wife in [G/D]Tennessee, when one [C]day she called to [Am]me.
[Em]"Virgil, [G/D]quick!  Come see!  [C]There goes Robert E. [Am]Lee!"
[G/B]Now I don't mind I'm [C]chopping wood,
And I [G]don't care if the [Am]money's no good.
[G/B]You take what you need and you l[C]eave the rest,
[C]But they should [G/B]never have [Am]taken the very [A]best.
refrain

[Em]Like my father b[G/D]efore me, [C]I work the l[Am]and.
[Em]And like my brother [G/D]above me, [C]I took a rebel s[Am]tand.
[G/B]He was just eighteen, [C]proud and brave,
But a [G]Yankee laid him [Am]in his grave.
[G/B]I swear by the blood be[C]low my feet,
You can't [G/B]raise a Caine back [Am]up when he's in [A]defeat.

Additionally, it should read "Stoneman's Cavalry" not stonewall's. Stoneman was a yankee general particularly hated in the area.

That Bm in the first line of the first verse seems like a mistake. It's not repeated in any other verse. Also, the line "I don't mind I'm chopping wood" should read, "I don't mind 'em chopping wood."
