I've posted this before, but without tablature. Frankly, if you already
knew how to play it, the tab won't do much for you. It's a pretty simple
fingerpicking song, great for beginners or for mindless practice. :) By
the way, I saw an interview once where MCC said that everything in this
song is real.

[C] This shirt is o[C(4)]ld and faded,[C] all the color's [C(9)/B]washed away
[C] I've had it m[C(4)]ore damn years than [C]I can count an[C(9)/B]yway
[Am] I wear it bene[Am/G]ath my jacket,[Fmaj9] with the collar t[G6]urned up high
[Am] So old I sho[Am/G]uld replace it,[Fmaj9] but I'm [G6]not about to tr[C]y[C(4)] [C] [C(9)/B]
This shirt's got silver buttons, and a place upon the sleeve
Where I used to set my heart up right there where anyone could see
This shirt is the one I wore to every boring high school dance
Where the boys ignored the girls and we all pretended to like the band
[Em] This shirt was a [Fmaj9]pillow for my h[C]ead on a train thr[G6]ough Italy
[Em] This shirt was a [Fmaj9]blanket beneath the l[C]ove we made in [G6]Argeles
[Em] This shirt was [Fmaj9]lost for three whole da[C]ys in a town n[G6]ear Buffalo
[Am] Till I found the [C/G]locker key in a [D9/F#]downtown Tr[G6]ailways bus de[C]pot[C(4)] [C] [C(9)/B]
This shirt is the one I lent you, and when you gave it back
It had a rip inside the sleeve where you rolled your cigarettes
It was the place I put my heart, now look at where you put a tear
I forgave your thoughtlessness, but not the boy who put it there
This shirt was the place your cat decided to give birth to five
And we stayed up all night watching, and we wept when the last one died
This shirt is just an old faded piece of cotton
Shining like memories inside those silver buttons
This shirt is a grand old relic with a grand old history
I wear it now for Sunday chores, cleaning house and raking leaves
I wear it beneath my jacket with the collar turned up high
So old I should replace it, but I'm not about to try
[C] [reC(4)]peat a[C]nd [C(9)/B]fade]
TAB:
[Note that this tablature is just four-measure-long PIECES of tab
