Song Title:Kiss A Girl
Artist: Keith Urban
Writers: Keith Urban; Monty Powell
I've divided this lesson into two parts. Beginner Lesson and Reminder chords. The
beginner lesson is simply a walkthrough for the song and the reminder chords are
for later once you have the lesson down and you print it out and you don't want
all the side notes in the way.
~~~~~~~~~~PART 1: BEGINNER LESSON~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This song is a little difficult to explain in writing. It's best to have an audio
version of the song and campare notes. It's not going to be perfect but it's a
good hit and the orginal.
For the astrick marked chords, these are played like the chart below.
The D is technically a Dadd9.
To mute the strings on D and A simply put your index finger across the fifth fret.
D* A* G*
 e|-X-|-X-|-X-|
 B|-X-|-X-|-X-|
 G|-7-|-7-|-4-|
 D|-7-|-6-|-5-|
 A|-X-|-X-|-5-|
 E|-X-|-X-|-X-|
Intro: (The riff is pretty much the second part of the intro or the up down
strumming intro. Read below.)
Strumming is simply a down stroke with some palm muting. It's best to compare
with the song itself.
The first part is to play D* and to use your pinky and hit the G string and move up the fret.
the second part is to play A* and use your pinky and hit the D string and move up the fret.
Lasty hit hit G*. I personally like to hit the third fret and move to fourth to
give it a little more sound. That's how Keith does it with the G* - G*.
It's hard to explain in writing.
That's half of the intro. Repeat what you did but this time the struming has
changed to an up down stroke. It's a very easy song to learn strumming wise until
the chorus.
D* D* - A* A* - G*
T-To kiss and tell it's just not my style
G* G* - G* G* - D*
But the night is young and it's been a while
D* - A* A* - G*
