Like a Child  Jars of Clay

written by: Jars of Clay, Lyrics by Dan Haseltine
transcribed by: David Lawson and Carrie Faith Ingram
***O.K. all you Jars fans out there, I tried to figure this out, and I've
somewhat succeded. I know at least the chords are mostly right---just
mess around with the progressions here, and see if it works. I don't know
exactly how to write tab, so this should be interesting!!!***
{here's some chords that would be easier to write in tab, but i don't know
how to do that}
1 x x x x 8 7
2 x x x x 7 5
3 x x x x 5 3
4 x x x x 3 2
5 x x x x 3 3
6 x x x x 12 10
Dear God, [G--C2]
surro[G--C2]und me as I speak, [G--C2]
the bridges[G--C2] that I walk across are weak,[G--C2]
and the frustratio[G]ns fill th[C2]e void tha[G--C2]t I can't solely bear.[G--C2]
Dear God,[1-2-3-4-5]
don't let[1] me[2] fal[3]l a[4]par[5]t,
You'v[2]e held[1] me c[2]lose [3]to You,[6]
and I have turned[1] away and[2--2] searched[1] [2]
for[3] ans[1-2]wers [-]I c[2]an[-]'t[1] under[2--4]stand.
CHORUS:
[D2-D-Dsus]They say tha[C2]t I can [G]move the mount[C2]ains
and sen[D2-D-Dsus]d them fall[C2]ing (crashing) to th[G]e sea[C2]
They [D2-D-Dsus]say that I c[C2]an wa[G]lk on w[C2]ater
i[D2-D-Dsus]f I would f[C2]ollo[G]w a[C2]nd believe
with faith like a child

 G--C2 G--C2 G--C2 G

Sometimes, when I feel miles away
and my eyes can't see Your face
I wonder if I've grown to lose the
recklessness I walked in light of You...
