Reasons Not To Be An Idiot - Frank Turner

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tabbed by: Phil Conry*
Tuning: Standard EADGBe
after seeing frank play this live i realised that although notewise the other chords up
here may be correct, he in fact plays the song with a capo meaning that to play it how
was written you would need to be playing different chords relative to the capo
(if you get what i mean... probably not)
but anyway heres what i make of it, hope you like it
CAPO ON 2ND
INTRO
[G]
VERSE 1
[G]You're not as messed up as you think you are
Your self-absorption makes you messier
Just settle down and you will feel a whole lot bet[Em]ter
Deep down you're just like e[C]veryb[D]ody else[G]
VERSE 2
[G]She's not as pretty as she thinks she is
Just picture her after she's had kids
I bet she sits at home and listens to The Sm[Em]iths
Deep down she's just like ev[C]eryb[D]ody else[G]
CHORUS
[Am]So why are you sat at [D]home?
You're not designed to be alone[G]
You just got used to saying "[Em]no"
So get up and get down and get outside
[Am]Cos it's a lovely sunny da[D]y
But you hide yourself aw[G]ay
You've only got yourself to bl[Em]ame
Get up and get down and get outside[G]
VERSE 3
[G]He's not as clever as he likes to think
He's just ambitious with his arguing
He's crap at dancing, yeah and he can't hold his d[Em]rink
Deep down he's just like ev[C]eryb[D]ody else[G]
VERSE 4
[G]I'm not as awesome as this song makes out
I'm angry, underweight and sketching out
I'm building bonfires on my vanities and dou[Em]bts
To get warm just like e[C]veryb[D]ody else[G]
Repeat the CHORUS ^
MIDDLE 8
[D]Amy thinks that life is lacking in d[F]rama
So she fell for horoscopes, faith-healing and k[C]arma
She's so wrapped up in her invisible ar[Am]mour
She'll never grow into he[D]rself
And it's OK thinking me and all my friends are just wa[F]sters
But saying that I can still see through her heirs and gra[C]ces
I bet she's scared her life won't leave any tr[Am]aces
Caught up like everyone el[D]se
BRIDGE
That's not the point a[C]nyway
Oh[D] darling, I felt compelled to call you u[C]p to say...
CHORUS
Am (play once & let ring) D
So why are you sat at home?
You're not designed to be alone[G]
You just got used to saying "[Em]no"
So get up and get down and get outside
[Am]Cos it's a lovely sunny da[D]y
But you hide yourself aw[G]ay
You've only got yourself to bl[Em]ame
Get up and get down and get outside[G]
OUTRO
(no guitar)
Get up and get down and get outside
Get up and get down and get outside
[C]Get up and get d[D]own and get outside
[Em]Get up and get [B7]down and get outside
[C]Get up and get d[D]own and get [A#]outside[G]
sounds about right to me.
hope you enjoy it :)
