The Recluse Cursive
This acoustic version is pretty simple but sounds really close to the actual
thing. I pretty much got this down from watching people's covers on Youtube that were really good.
[A#] [577655]
[G#] [466544]
[C#m]B#? [446654]799877
I'm not sure if its a B, but the finger positions are correct. I play without a
capo because my voice is deeper, but if you're a girl, I'd probably put a capo on
the 2nd fret to better fit the voice.
I aw[A#]ake al[G#]one
in a w[C#m]oman's room I h[B#]ardly know.
I aw[A#]ake a[G#]lone
and p[C#m]retend that I am f[B#]inally home.
The [A#]room is li[G#]ttered
with her b[C#m]ooks and no[B#]tebooks
I im[A#]agine w[G#]hat they say, like,
"[C#m]Shoo fly don't [B#]bother me."
I[A#] can hardly get m[G#]yself out of the [C#m]bed
for [B#]fear of[A#] never lying in [G#]this bed [C#m]again.
Oh C[B#]hrist, I'm [A#]not [G#]that [C#m]despe[B#]rate.
Oh [A#]no, oh [G#]God. I [C#m]am.
A#, G#, C#m, B#(x3)
How'd I end up here to begin with?
I don't know.
Why do I start what I can't finish?
Oh please don't barrage me
with the questions
to all those ugly answers.
My ego's like my stomach,
it keeps shitting what I feed it.
But maybe I don't want to finish anything anymore.
Maybe I can wait in bed 'til she comes home
and whispers,
"You're in my web now,
I've come to wrap you up tight
'til it's time to bite down."
I awake alone
in a woman's room I hardly know.
I awake alone
and pretend that I am finally home.
