In the Journey  Martin Sexton

This is a fantastic song, that's pretty simple to play.
Sexton plays this song in a bunch of different ways, alot of time in open G, but this is
version I've seen him play that is really simple and doesn't require re-tuning your guitar.

D x-x-0-2-3-2----------| (hammer on the A note the first beat of every bar)
 Cadd9 x-3-2-0-3-3-|
 G/B x-2-0-0-3-3-|

Verse:
[D]Met an old friend last night, had a cup of coffee
[D]We talked about all the things that had been going on
[D]We talked about the old days, we talked about the new days
[D]We talked just about anything but what was r[Cadd9]eally going on[G/B]
[D]After ten long minutes that slowly passed us by
[D]The tension in the air I could cut it with a knife
[D]Staring out the window and gazing at the menu
[D]Suddenly he called my name and he loo[Caad9]ked me in the eye[G/B]
Chorus:
He said, I d[Cadd9]on't know where I'm go[G/B]ing and I don't know where I've bee[D]n.
And there'[Cadd9]s one long road that I t[G/B]raveled just to see you ag[D]ain.
I said I [Cadd9]don't know where I'm g[G/B]oing, I don't know where I've b[D]een.
And it [Cadd9]seems I got a little t[G/B]rouble and I need you my frie[D]nd.
After the last chorus for the "its in the journey...." part just keep playing Cadd9 -
- D. You'll hear it.
have fun! :)
