"The original appears to be in key of Bf; if you love bar chords
try this with bflat, F7, cminor instead. I have written it in the
key of A for sanity.
Enya does this with a simple pick: T234 T3 (or some variation thereof)
VOCAL VERSION:
(it's simple, but it works) -just pick the chords; this song is meant to
show off vocal improvisation, and the very nice slides up to the higher
notes. And don't spare the sentimentality; Remember valentine's day
isn;t that far away!
Time sig: feels like a 3/4 to me:
[A]I dreamt I d[E7]welt in m[A]arble halls
with [E7]vassals [(bm)]and serfs[(E7)] by my [A]side
And-[A]of all those who as[E7]sembled [A]within those walls
that [E7]I was the[(Bm)] hope and [(E7)]the p[A]ride.

 --------------------------------------------------------

**if picking ignore the optional chords; nice for strumming)
[A]I had [E7]riches [Bm]too great to [A]count
and a [E7]high an[Bm]cestral [E]name ...... [E7]but
[A]I also [E7]dreamt which [A]pleased me most .....that
[E7]you loved[(Bm)] me still the [A]same.
A Bm (A) E7 Bm A
That you loved me.... you loved still the same;
[A]that you [Bm]loved me ...y[(A)]ou l[E7]oved me [Bm]still the [A]same;
[A]that you l[E7]oved me s[(Bm)]till.[D]........[E7]the s[A]ame..

 -----------------------------------------------------------

vocal note: keep up the momentum, building on the last
4 lines; don't insert a rest between lines.

Second verse:

 -------------

I [A]dreamt that [E7]suitors [A]sought my hand
that [E7]knights[(bm)] upon b[E7]ended [A]knee
and wi[A]th vows no [Eu]maiden's [A]heart could withstand
they [E7]pledged [(bm)]their f[E7]aith to [A]me.

 ---------------------------------

[A]And I [E7]dreamt that [Bm]one of the noble [A]host
came [E7]forth my [Bm]hand to [E]claim.....[E7]But
.. [A]I also [E7]dreamt which [A]pleased me most....that
you l[Bm]oved me , [(A)]you l[Em]oved me [Bm]still the [A]same........
[A]that you [Bm]loved me ...y[(A)]ou l[E7]oved me [Bm]still the [A]same;
[A]that you l[E7]oved me s[(Bm)]till.[D]........[E7]the s[A]ame..
